shipargosParticipantI like what i saw in this game, the kid is really big and mobile, he was ferocious in the pick and roll, and he is more athletic than many of nba starting centers.
Minor Scouting report.
He looks big, thats no surprise being listed at 7´1, but also looks to have a big wingspan. Maybe 7`3 or 7´4
He runs the floor fast and is very explosive
Excelent finisher at the pick and roll, ( i think he can benefit by playing in an uptempo game and build chemistry with a good point like Ray Felton)
He has good hands
He appears to have no post skills aside for the quick layup or the explosive dunk
His offensive awareness was good, his defensive one was just average at best.
He looks raw in both ends of the floor, but he can earn his spot receiving good passes in transition and playing the pick and roll.
not much of a shot blocker despite his size.
he doesnt appeat to have a jumshot
projected stats
9 points 4.5 rebounds 1 block .570 from the field in 20 minutes a game. i see a lot of Tyson Chandler in him, catching alley ups.
potential stats if he develops post skills and a jumshot
16 points 8 rebounds and almost 2 blocks

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantI saw some of the Russia-PR game today
He’s alright. At times, he looked a little lost. He seemed out of the offense a little bit. He’s a tall guy, he’s long as well which could help but I have my questions. I like that he played a little back to the basket in the game because I read he’s more a faceup guy so I’m glad he’s trying to develop. Defense is blah at best.
If he makes the rotation for the Knicks, I could see 6 and 6 next season off the bench. This would be more of a developmental season for him and he could see more time in 2011.

MagikKnickParticipantEhh, Super low expectations, Dont think he’ll crack D’Antoni’s rotation to begin with…
But IMO, Another overseas bigman that dominates overseas but likely wont translate to the NBA, Hamed Haddadi 2.0

NarcParticipantHe’s going to play only when the Knicks are outclassed in size…the Knicks are already going to have an undersized C start the game (possibly Turiaf). I like Mozgov but the only way he gets solid mins is if injuries hit the front court.

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantWhat about the Rest periods Turiaf, Randolph and Amar’e will get? He might start a couple games because of that.

bkballerParticipantI dont know if he will ever be a good player, but if he can succeed anywhere its with Mike D. His lack of offensive talent can be covered if he just runs hard, sets picks, blocks shots and finishes strong at the rim. Knicks need size and if Mozgov has anything it is that, the guy instantly becomes one of the biggest inside presences in the NBA.

HitsterParticipantThe Knicks have been chasing a blocking presence for a couple of years so I’d guess that Turiaf will see a fair amount of playing time maybe mostly at C as STAT is likely to play PF with Gallinari at SF ( unless Melo trade happens). I could see Mozgoz having a role similar to David Andersen at Houston last year as a 7 footer off the bench.
