Most Overrated Player in the League?

Who do you guys think is the most overrated player in the league? I'm not asking who is the most overpaid or overvalued player although sometimes that can go hand in hand, but generally speaking, overpaid and overrated are two different things in my mind.

Elton Brand was expected to

Elton Brand was expected to do big things before he got hurt, so his contract is somewhat justified. I don't think the 6ers expected Brand to become a shell of himself through an injury. Before that, Brand was a 20-10 guy.

I don't think anyone thinks Conley is that good, so I would say he is just overvalued by the Grizzlies organization.

Yeah, Noah is overrated by a lot of people on forums and such. He is overvalued too by his org.

IMO it's Brook Lopez. For all

IMO it's Brook Lopez. For all this talk about him being a top 5 C, he struggles to make the Nets more than a below average team. He's got some offensive skills, but he's not a great rebounder, plays robotic at times, and is a pretty shaky defender.

Sorry

sorry that cut off the rest of what i was saying. Durant is overrated for the simple fact that he is put into the same conversation as Kobe and Lebron. Right now Durant is a second tier star along with CP3, D12, and Melo. The 2nd tier guys dominate OCCASIONALLY, not normally like Kobe and Lebron. Nonetheless, I believe with the emergence of Westbrook as a legit 2nd option that Durant will be able to focus more on defense/ rebounding and join Kobe and Lebron.

Danny Granger. People think

Danny Granger. People think that his average of 25pts is legit, but it really isn't. If you put him any other team, he is just a second option. The only reason why he averages 25 pts a game is because he has to in order for the Pacers to have a chance. People think that because of his averages he is a first option scorer, when really he is only a 2nd option. I can think of about 15 teams where he would have to defer to someone else thus causing his averages to go down to about 15 pts a game.

I also agree with Mo Williams, and to an extent Mike Conley.

Dirk Nowitzki imo. U talk

Dirk Nowitzki imo. U talk about a guy who is praised year in an year out but to me he is on the same level as Vince Carter. He has monster regular seasons but has never put dallas over the top. Dirk should be the most unguardable player in the league with his size combined with he perimiter and post up skills, but in the post season he disappears year in and year out. Honestly i wouldnt have resigned him this offseason if i was Dallas and i would start rebuilding becuz having Dirk as your center piece will never bring you an NBA title.

Your theory is beyond flawed IMO, so according to you CP3, DWILL, LeBron, Melo, KD, Dirk, Dwight, and any other star player you can think of is overrated because they havent won a championship, I mean there have only been like 5 teams that have won the championship in the past 15 years.

Brandon Jennings is very

Brandon Jennings is very overrated at the moment, IMO. He is still young and working the kinks out of his game. He is still a good player with a lot of potential, but has yet to shoot a good percentage from the field. I know PG's as a whole shoot one of the lower percanteges per position, but the dude has yet to crack 40% and some people act like he's a fringe all-star. I heard probable HOF after he dropped 55 last year.

I agree Bosh is overrated

Dirk slightly is too. I agree he needs to be number two on a team not 1. Dallas will not win a title just be competitive with him. Mo Williams is just a jump shooter not much else he is overrated. Amare is just a scorer too. He should average 10 rebounds and 2 blocks easy every year. I like Brandon Jennings, but I agree he has not been aggresive enough, and settles for too many jumpers. Needs to be more aggressive.

You have a point on Granger

You have a point on Granger that he is probably better suited for a secondary option, but the extent to which you exagerrated is fairly humorous... 15 pts a game. lol. Maybe if by different team you mean UCLA.

Dwight Howard is the most overrated player in the league. No doubt he's a dominant for physically and fills the stat lines for Centers, but he hasn't shown that he can be the dominant force of a playoff series against teams with strong opposing big men. A prime example of what he's not would be Tim Duncan in the second and third of those Spurs championship runs.

Lebron James. Can't dribble,

Lebron James. Can't dribble, can't shoot. Turnover prone. He lives off the whistle and then he misses the freethrow. Great on the fastbreak, who isn't. Oh yeah no rings yet he gets compared to Kobe. Why not start comparing Monte Ellis to Kobe, why stop there throw Kevin Martin and JR Smith in the convo.

Granger isn't overrated at

Granger isn't overrated at all. He's a legit 20+ scorer. And now that the Pacers have Collison and an improved Hibbert, he'll be able to focus on other areas of his game and not be as responsible for so much of the offensive load.

I don't think anybody considers him a championship caliber first option. He's not getting paid like one either. There are TEN players at his position getting paid more than him this season.

I don't know about that

I don't know about that now...

I mean, unless you're looking at it from a financial standpoint. Granger wouldn't cost as much, which would give the Knicks more flexibility to add a couple of more pieces.

Its obvious

Overrated and overvalued - Joakim Noah- I mean Carmelo is right there for the taking I'd pick Carmelo and get a defensive Center easily I mean Earl Barron is FA right now and he averaged 11 and 11 he's no Noah but if I'm Chicago's GM I do this now.

Overpaid- Rashard Lewis because 1 Joe Johnson just got his contract and 2 Lewis is 3 in a 4's body but is too slow to play the 3 I honestly would bring him off the bench and start Gortat or Bass
