kgreeley20ParticipantWho do you think the Most improved player will be this season. I think just because of his performance from last night Batum from the Blazers has it

McWinningParticipantm not so sure, he had Steve Nash on him most of the time he was in, i know he only played 25 minutes but he shouldve hung 30 on him.
Also i dont think hell get the minutes, and shot to score more then 13, or 14 points a game.
Hes gonna be good this year, but i think Kevin Love will win it.

KHAM83ParticipantThere are going to be a lot of improved players this year; Love and Batum of course (which just about every analyst as predicted), but I also like Dorrell Wright-gsw and Josh McRoberts of Indy. Wright is built for Golden State’s up-tempo offense and he will post similar stats to Batum. McRoberts, is Tyler H. doesn’t steal too much minutes, will put up numbers as well. With Collison and the improves Hibbert (another breakout player) he will get a lot of open buckets. He has 3 point range and is a good offensive rebounder, which will lead to the easy buckets. He gets a decent amount of assists and will get about a block and a steal per game. But I’m betting on Love this year. The offense will flow through him and he will answer the call. He will lead the team in points, and top 5 in the league in rebounds. Add to that, good amount of assist/3s for his position.

Mr. 19134ParticipantAaron Affalo is the NBA’s most improved player. All he has to do is stay healthy to win the award.

ChrispyParticipantReally? Quit it with the discriminatory language. This is a basketball site, not an insulting language compendium. Thank you.

ChrischiParticipantYeah, you’re totally right. Many people who don’t feel like or simply can’t argue, they just -1 you to show you that they disagree with you, without brining an argument or telling you why they disagree with you or what they think. The rating system sux.
I don’t think Afflalo will get the MiP. He isn’t even in my top 20 for a simple reason. For me, he had his breakout year last season. He turned a starter and played great for the Nuggets. For me he was in the discussion last season.I think a MiP player has to be a role player who suddenly turns to a starter and a 2nd or 3rd option of his team or a starter that gets a larger role offensivly because somebody leaves the team kinda like Blatche.
I don’t see Afflalo in that position at all. He already had a career year last season. Averaging close to 30mpg, 9ppg, shooting 44% for three point range and playing exceptional perimeter defense. He might get something like 10 or 11ppg but I don’t see more. Melo, Billups, JR, Nene, Harrington all have bigger offensive roles than him. He has to average around 15ppg to even get into the conversation but I don’t see it, because I also see Melo staying in Denver for this season.
But I don’t want to take anything away from him. I think he is an ideal SG. He plays tough D, stretches the court and is young. He also has a relativly small income compared to what he brings to the table. I really like him.
For me guys like Blatche or McGee are in the discussion because they didn’t start the entire last season. McGee simply has to play 30min and has to avg like 13-9 to have a massivly improved stat line. If Blatche averages 18 and 9 he will be in the discussion also, although he probably won’t make it because he already started alot last season avg like 14-7 I don’t remember, so his improvement probably won’t be big enough. Felton’s numbers might jump to because he is carrying a bigger role offensivly with the Knicks and plays in a faster system with a great finsiher around teh rim. If Robin Lopez starts consistently and stays healthy he might be in the discussion also.
