Ryan Anderson!

Seems deserving, who do you guys think should have won it instead of him?

He's deserving. I thought

He's deserving. I thought Andrew Bynum was better though. He went from being a good center who couldn't stay healthy to the clear cut second best center in the NBA.

It's too bad Jeremy Lin couldn't stay healthy... He'd have been the obvious choice.

i agree wth IB, if Lin was

i agree wth IB, if Lin was healthy, he would have ran off with the award. and threads and posters would be chasing right behind claiming how someone else would have deserved it more. in all honesty though, this year had a ton of players deserving of winning the award. Ryan Anderson was the early on favored one then Linsanity came along and made it a race. then bynum showed he could be healthy and still be better than before. Ilyasova put up some big numbers for a depleted bucks squad who were making a play-off push till the very end making a case for himself. Kevin Love was playing insane ball in a competitive team who was in and out of the play-off picture for two-thirds of the season.

any of those guys could have gone out and won the award, and all of them had reasons not to. so no matter who won it, it was well deserved. i wouldnt say less than the others, wouldnt say more, but it was deserved and in the end, only won won it.

I have to say Anderson was

I have to say Anderson was very deserving and I think proved in the last few games of the season that he was more than just the beneficiary of D12 down low. Even when Howard went out for the rest of the season Anderson put up big numbers; 24 pts against Denver, 21 in Utah and 26 vs Philly. He is a legit player, one of the best shooting big men in the league and a nice complimentary scorer. He really is the ideal PF to have next to Howard.

Projection for next season

I'm hoping next season Chalmers wakes up and starts playing to his potential all season. Everyone says the Heat need a pg, but they have a pg in Chalmers he just needs to wake up and see how much this team needs him. I think he tries to ride LBJ and Wade too much. If he does that Chalmers will be next years most improved player.

Mullens and Lin

Lin & BJ Mullens also improved their games....Mullens had alot of dnps the past few years and was back & forth from the D-League to the NBA..Mullens increased his scoring average from 1.9 to almost 10 pts and his rbs from 1.4 to 5 a game and had 28 games of scoring in double figures..I know alot of people will say he's numbers are inflated becuz he's playing on the worst team in the nba..But Mullens seem to gain alot of confidence this season giving the extra time on the court.......Lin might've won if he had played more games....

To me,Ryan Anderson played the same way he did last season..And last season he came off the bench...The only difference is he played more minutes this year(34) compared to (22) last season and with those extra 10 minutes he increased his scoring by 6 points..Anderson has an underrated post game, isnt afraid of contact and plays with a mean streak....I'll like to see him increase his fg% up from the current 43%..Its going to be interesting what type of offers he'll get this summer?

DeMarcus Cousins should've

DeMarcus Cousins should've won this award..He's on the verge of becoming an all star..Plus after Westphal was let go,he played with more maturity and consistency...Nekola Pevovic of the TWolves is another player that improved alot this year...

Lin got into Time Magazine's 100

Most Influential People In The World. Getting MIP just appeared to be too insurmountable. Congrats to Anderson. Pacers in 5.

I will give Cousins MIP

when he has 5 or less technicals in season. As well as not lead the leagues in fouls, shoot 45% and turn the ball over almost 3 a game.

To me, Danny Green, Avery

To me, Danny Green, Avery Bradley and Esran Illysova all should have been considered b4 him. I don't think Anderson leading the league in 3 pt attempts and leading the league in 3 pts made should give him the MIP award. Sure, he did have a pretty good rebounding year, but here are his stats from last year: 23mpg, 11ppg, 6rpg, .6bpg and shot 39 percent from three. His stats this year 33mpg, 16ppg, 8rpg, .4bpg, and shot 39 percent from three. How is that a most improved player? I think since Danny Green wasn't even sure he was gonna be in the league this year and him being an essential piece to championship quality team shuld have won him the award. I also think that Bradley has emerged as one of the top on ball defenders in the league and his offensive game is finally coming around. Those things alone should have put him ahead of ryan anderson.

If Lowry had been injured more of the year Dragic would definitly be in consideration as well.

Pek

I believe Pek was a option for this one. Good For anderson, But pek gets my vote, a second rounder no one really knows about, to a solid starter.

Pek

he was a foul machine and a stiff the year before. This year he showed that he can rebound and use post moves to score. He went from a stiff to a quality center. Ryan anderson is fine(good for him), but everyone knew he could shoot. Pekovic went from being a 10th man to an above average center. I am bias because I like the wolves. There were a decent amount of guys who could have gooten it and I wouldnt have cared, and ryan anderson is one of those guys, so it is fine with me.

Anderson?

He's a great shooter, a Kevin Love-type player who can shoot 3s while clogging the paint. But he's struggled without Dwight since it's clear that he can't make his own shot, when the D closes out on him he struggles shooting.

Congrats to Anderson, but he

Congrats to Anderson, but he didn't improve that much, he just got more opportunites and more shots, but still a great job by him, I wish him the best.

I think Ryan Anderson

I think Ryan Anderson definitely deserves it. Bynum has always had the talent, he just couldn't stay healthy. That's not improvement on your game, it's an improvement on not getting hurt.

Nobody Mentioned the Fact that Ryan Anderson is the 5th Orlando Magic player to win this award...More than Any Other Team....

1.Tracy McGrady 2.Hedo Turkuglo 3.Darrell Armstrong 4.Scott Skills...

So Should Daniel Orton be making room on his wall for this Award Next Year? hahahaha

Always a tough award to

Always a tough award to predict and to give. Ryan Anderson is deserving in my opinion, but I also have the feeling that it has more to do with extra minutes than a development of his play. For me Pekovic, Danny Green and also Gortat are more deserving, although I think that latter one is also more a result of minutes and playing with an excellent point guard instead of real development.

I thought that Gordon Hayward would receive a bit more recognition than his four total points. The total points of Serge Ibaka surprised me a bit, since I didn't see as much improvement with him as I've seen with people lower on the list.

Good choice. He improved, but

Good choice. He improved, but most important he did it with Howard hurt. The Magic are still competitive with him as the best player on the team with Howard out. I think he shouldve won even if Lin was hurt, I dont think the Knicks wouldve been nearly as good as the Magic have been if Lin had to play without Melo and Amare. Lin also proved to be a bit erratic when teams got a better grasp of a scouting report on him. Cant say that about Anderson.
