He doesn't have the most impressive stats to this point of the season but he has shown flashes of being an all around great player. I think this guy can be a poor mans Josh Smith in a couple of seasons. What is the consensus around here?
I agree with the smith comparison a bit, he has the potential to be a tough all around defender with his long arms and the fact he may peak around 6'10 as he isn't done growing; I think his peak stats would be 12-15 points, 6-8 rebounds, 1-3 assists, 1-2 blocks, and 1-2 steals. It all depends on where Orlando want him to develop in the future
In a few years, their young players develop the right way and grow with Jacque Vaughn, they could easily be the unknowingly winners of the Dwight trade.
So you guys are projecting him to be a powerforward for his career? I always pictured him as a small forward with Paul George/ Trevor Ariza type skills.
I thought he was a perimter player who didn't mind mixing it up down low. In today's nba though it seems you put anyone you want a PF and just explain to ownership the speed advantage, I love teams that have traditional big men and actually utilize them.
I like where orlando is going. They just need that centerpiece now.
If they can get mclemore or shabazz, that would be a great step to helping them to rebuild.
The losers of the D12 trade may just be Philly as Bynum is yet to set foot on court for them and they gave up Harkness, Vucevic, Iggy and a pick. When you look at how nicely Turner and Holliday are doing and okay even if you feel Iggy had to be moved for them to improve then throw in Harkness and Vucevic and you'd have a great young core for Philly to be a legit play off team.
Orlando have not done as bad as we all thought with Harkness and Nicholson both having good rookie years and Affalo and Vucevic both stepping up. Maybe they are one good lottery pick from having the platform to get back into the play offs and with future picks due, these could come when the team is in a much stronger situation.
Been watching him since high-school was @ forest hills in queens then went to south Kent
He is a PF that has sf size ,but you can't play him on the wings cause his jumpshot nor handle
Is good enough ...he is one of them Tweener pf with a good enough handle and atheleticsm to
Give bulky pf problems on the block ,can out run them up and down the floor ,he will block shots
And GRABB rebounds also
No matter what team.he was on in high school and college he was always one of the biggest kids ,so he knows how to play the 4 and 5 positions
I heard he has open growth plates and is rumored to be projected to grow another 2 inches.
He had a great game with Arron Afflalo out. He will be relegated to the bench once Afflalo is back but I still see him being a great player long term.
