Right now my mock draft is still very fluid with players moving around quite a bit.  There are some prospects that I’m having a hard time slotting and they may be too low.  That includes players like Ben Bentil, Malcolm Brogdon, Pascal Siakam, and Demetrius Jackson.  In this draft there are players that could go much higher or much lower than expected.

Why would the Celtics draft Ellenson. Zimmerman and Stone?

Where are you seeing that?  I don’t have any of them going to the Celtics.  Ellenson 9th to Toronto, Zimmerman 32nd to Lakers, Stone 33rd to Clippers.

I think Maker will go ahead of Skal as well.

you don’t have a single European player taken from 51-60. That is extraordinarily unlikely.

Thanks didn’t notice that.  I’ll have to look into some of the other foreign draft eligible players.

Boston fan here and I like all your picks, but would rather have Taurean Prince at 16. Definitely hope Boston goes for Bender despite his very young age. Do think your top 10 is solid.

Where Thon ends up is still the biggest mystery to me though.

I like Prince for Boston as well so I’d have no problem with Ainge taking him 16th.  His game reminds me of Jae Crowder who I love as a player.  Valentine just seems like the kind of player Brad Stevens likes that has versatility to play on or off the ball.

With Thon I can see him rising or falling on draft night.  Teams like Phoenix, Boston, Denver have multiple 1st rounders so it would make sense for them to take a flyer on him.  But if Boston takes Bender at 3 I can’t see them taking Maker at 16.  Apparently Phoenix is open to moving the 13th pick so it’s possible a team moves up to that spot to secure him.

As a Celtics fan, I think your three firsts make sense.  Bender as potential star stretch 4, Valentine (or Prince) providing depth at 3 especially if ET departs in free agency and I really like Zubac as a draft and stash at 23.  Though he seems to be getting increased attention, I would love to add Zizic as possible draft and stash at 31.  In fact, I would like to draft and stash the entire second round and take a page from the Spurs in creating a quasi-minor league in Europe.

with regards to rest of draft, I like the fact you factor in need not just BPA.  In addition to the aforementioned Bentil, I think Whitehead may sneak into the late first round.  I think the Diallo and Qi picks make a lot of sense at the end of the first as well
