Mock Draft 2.0
Before checking out the mock, I'll say it: Some will hate it and some will love it. I know, I have a lot of people going high and some going low. Just give me some feedback and tell me what you think. I will explain any pick you dislike to the fullest extent.
Luke Babbit going 8th to Clippers.. you have to be kidding me. There is absolutely no way Babbit goes that high. If the Clippers really want Babbit, they could just trade down to a team with 2 late first rounders and still get a chance to draft him late first round but for him to go 8th, that's obsurd.
Babbitt's stock has soared.
With both Aminu and Johnson off my board, LAC could look Babbitt's way. He's 6-8, amazing shooter and could play some PF with his rebounding ability. Do I think this is LAC's 1st choice? No way but Babbitt is no slouch.
I like that it's a little gutsy, especially Bledsoe to the Pacers. That team needs a tough big man to protect Granger, and there will be a couple worthy of picking 10th on the board, but because they technically have starters in Murphy and Hibbert (with Hansbrough), I think they just might reach for a PG, because T.J. Ford is downright disgraceful (3.8 assists in 25.3 minutes, 8-50 from range on the year). This team needs explosiveness, and Bledsoe is a dynamite athlete with a very dynamic game; he was schooled as a PG (would have been a star at the position last year had it not been for Wall), and he can light it up as well (this is a guy that hit 8 threes in a tourney game). Even if he isn't worthy of being a lottery pick at this point, he would inject a lot of energy into that Pacers team. After they plummeted (or rather, rose) from having the 4th pick with a few weeks left in the season to moving up (or down?) to 10th, I think they could take a chance on a high risk/high reward prospect like Bledsoe.
Indiana is the toughest team to project IMO.
They could use a PG, SG or PF. With alot of exp contracts in 2011, I could see them looking to take a high upside guy like Bledsoe and have him learn the PG similar to Westbrook did in OKC. Bledsoe at best could be a Tony Parker type PG. I think his defense could be better but Bledsoe has upside in his mid range game.
but i like what ur doing the only thing i really disagree with is how much you made Motijenus fall and Babbitt rise you should switch those two to be more accurate lol.
Donatas is only entering this draft if hes gauranteed a lottery selection so hes going top 13 or not going at all
That's the thing about Motie. I think he could drop. He needs to have some good workouts. We don't know if he's going lotto. For all we know- He might not play in the NBA this upcoming season. If that's the case, I could see him slipping to SA at 20.
Babbitt, I don't know. Right now- He's in the top 10 from alot of people. I think his stock is raising because his ability to play both forward spots, upside and shooting ability. When someone is calling you the next Chris Mullin? His stock is rising.
Babbit is not going that high neither is Bledsoe. Motiejunas, Hayward, and Orton will not fall that low.
Read what I said in my original post. There will be picks people hate and people dislike.
I already defended my picks of Motie, Bledsoe and Babbitt
Hayward could fall because even though he's 6-8, I don't think he's good enough to defend 3's and can he score on them? I don't know. He did have a good NCAA title game against Duke but I question if he's the real deal. He's at best going in the 15-25 range IMO
Orton could go lotto. The issue is who's taking a risk on someone who put up 3 and 3? He could slip and if so, OKC at 21 could be the perfect fit. OKC will most likely bring in another big to let Orton develop at his own pace.
Im not hating I am just curious to know why the Hornets pick a SG when they need a sf and c when hassan whitside is on the board and so is paul george?
Who's NO SG? Marcus Thornton is at best a J.R. Smith type player.
New Orleans has James Posey and Peja as SF so I believe George is out. Whiteside? I dunno, I don't think they will take him. Could be a solid fit but unless they move Collison, I don't see it.
What im trynna say is they have a serviceable sg with Thornton he is young can score in bunches but peja is way past done and posey isnt getting no younger and with whiteside chris paul or collison could make him the next chandler
I agree to a point.
New Orleans has no room for leverage unless they move Collison. If they moved him for another lotto pick? I would give them Henry and Whiteside.
Peja is making 16 mil I believe so he will play and NO could prey someone wants some cap space to go after Melo. Posey was pretty good last season as a 4th option. Plus, I'm hearing that Paul George will most likely play the 2 in the NBA. Do I believe it? No but it could change alot of things.
i like it as a suns fan, collins and jordan....no way jordan is the 60th pick he should go way higher
Thanks for pointing that out, I was looking for Jordan and I wanted to move him up but couldn't find him. He will be moving up!
