That Kevin Love trade looks better and better by the month. For one they were able to get the next superstar in Andrew Wiggins while still being able to keep Lavine who could potentially be a problem as well, will be IMO. In that same process they escaped mediocrity which would have kept them from ever getting a high pick. They were able to acquire great young talent that can’t win, as a result; they have the No.1 pick in this years draft.

Minny has the talent to be dangerous so now they need to do something with it.  Also they need to move some of their young players that don’t appear to fit in the long term for some vets.  Bennett may be good one day but right now, the does not appear to be a good fit and also where would you play him.  Rubio, Lavine, Wiggins, Muhammed are young and have the guard and swingman spots locked up and whoever is picked with the number one pick may lock up the other big spot.

Good For Wolves. I expect Love to be back he was always a man of his words he was honest with Minnesota about leaving and I expect him to stay true his words about staying in Cleveland. Minne will be in a good situation and obviously the Cavs are Win Win for both organizations.

It should be Okafur and Wiggins. Wow…. That’s a scary combination and they have a whole lot of talent around them. The easiest position in the NBA to get as a starter is PF even though the PG position has the most ELITE talent. Now that we know who is going to pick number 1, 2, 3 and so on, we’ll start getting a more accurate report on who are really the top picks. I’m serious when I say, I DONT KNOW HOW anyone is talking about taking anybody over Okafur. He’ll score 20 points a game in his sleep. I don’t get it, it’s not even close to me.

Maybe people were just shooting smoke to see if they could get some kind of deal going if they had the top pick, I don’t know. Maybe it was just more interesting conversation because we know almost no one stays the top consensus pick in potential draft news just out of avoiding sheer boredom. Now, the narrative is going to change a little.

I very much doubt Okafor will be the same sort of scorer in the NBA as he was in college.

He struggled in the tournament against bigger guys, it’s not like the competition will be easier in the pros.

Okafor is a bigger risk than Towns to me because all he does is score, plus he can’t shoot free throws.

It’s not always that simple. Like omphalos said, he got bullied by some of the bigger guys in the tourney (like the guy from Gonzaga, can’t remember his name) and they’ll only be better in the NBA. Not saying he won’t for sure end up being a star, but I don’t think you could just throw him the ball on the block against DJ or Anthony Davis and expect him to score consistently

Because Towns fits that team. Minny is a running team and Towns can run the floor. Okafor is more stagnant and a dominate big. Lavine and Wiggins are up and down players. So is Rubio

I didn’t see him get bullied in the tourney, just triple teamed and being forced to pass out as he did to other talented teammates who could make plays. One on one, who could bully him? He’s 6’11 over 270 pounds. IT was strategy on coach Ks part. He knew Okafur’s main weakness was foul trouble, so he was all about preserving him for down the stretch of games. He made sure he didn’t get in a lot of positions to cause offensive and defensive fouls to be honest in the tournament because he’d pick up quick fouls in the regular season. And it worked.
