Minnesota's Rights Held

PG-Ricky Rubio
PF-Nikola Pekovic
SG-Nick Calathes
PF-Hank Norel

How big of an impact can these players make now that there Overseas Development is finishing. Nikola Petrovic is expected to come play for Minnesota this year but if all 4 came at 2011, and Minnesota gets another high pick (which is probally going to happen),and on top of that they have 3 first round picks and 2 second for the upcoming draft does Minnesota automatically become Front Runners for the Carmelo Anthony sweepstakes?

Yeah, the Wolves traded

Yeah, the Wolves traded Calathes right after they drafted him to Dallas for a 2nd round pick in this years draft.

norel is probably never going

norel is probably never going to amount to much, I think he was mostly taken because he played on the same team as ricky... one of the worst parts about holding the rights to ricky, by the way, is that his rookie level salary counts against our salary cap!!!

I'm not sure how having a young team puts them in a better position to sign Melo? Plus, it seems like he wants to stay in Denver...

The point is

The point is that they have more than just the draft picks. I don't believe that Pekovic will come over until next year and Rubio will most likely never suit up as a Wolf. The fact that he hit the weights for the first time in his life will pay off and he's playing in championships which maintains his value. I don't know that they can ever get equal value for him but all you need is one team (NY) to fall in love with him.

Pretty sure Melo want to stay

Pretty sure Melo want to stay in Denver why would he care if Minny gets a bunch of Euro trash? like ive said 100 times Rubio doesnt want to play for min he stated it last year when he got draft and before he got drafted so did his dad. So they should trade him while his value is high.

Rubio just won the Euro

Rubio just won the Euro League title at the age of 19. His value is already extremly high and is only going to go up with another stellar season in Europe. The Wolves can afford to hang onto his rights for another year and wait for a team who really wants him to overpay for his rights.

Rubio

Carmelo always struck me as a guy that if he doesn't stay in Denver that he wants to go to a major city and play. Depending on what happens in free agency, I could easily see him going to New Jersey and being there for the move to Brooklyn.
