Lotto StudParticipantDo you think there’s a possibility they go with Monroe or Cousins instead of Favors? I know Cousins cancelled the workout, but you can’t rule that out due to the fact that their BPA may go #3. Monroe would be a nice fit I think.

burningfloodParticipantI think both Monroe and Cousins are better fits for Minnesota than Favors; I think Favors is the BPA because of his potential. I would jump for joy if they picked Monroe, because if the rumors are true and the Kings are committed to Cousins, then Favors falls right to the Warriors.

FreeJasonryParticipantI don’t think Monroe is a good fit if they are considering getting rid of Jefferson. Monroe and Love have identical skill sets with their rebounding and passing. Both of them are more effective high post players than low post players. That’s like having two point guards lol Now if they bench Love and have Jefferson/Monroe, that’s a good look.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantDon’t believe the hype that Johnson is going #3. It does not make a bit of sense that a 12-win team would not be taking the player with the greatest upside.

NorthernLights666ParticipantAnd don’t believe the hype that MN will take Johnson, a 15 win team doesn’t need another role player. They’ll take Cousins, who is the clear BPA.

Lotto StudParticipantI really hope it’s just a rumor we get Johnson. I want a 4 BAD to fill a need!!!!!! Favors-Cousins-Monroe

cuseflynn10ParticipantWes Johnson will be the BPA and the best fit for the Timberwolves. It’s a win win for them. If for some reason Johnson wasn’t available (I don’t believe the NJN rumors) then the Timberwoves may try moving back to pick 6-10 range and select Aldrich. Aldrich grew up in Minnesota I believe and fills in a need. If Aldrich were to be picked, I don’t see how Jefferson remains on the team so Jefferson and the 16th may be traded for another top 10 pick.

kanebangerParticipantwhy would they wanna take aldrich hes going to be a carrier role player. In a draft with such good prospects and you wanna take a Greg Ostertag type player when you have a chance to get a superstar? dumb idea

Tyreke JohnsonParticipantThey are taking Wes Johnson because he will still be available, New Jersey has no need for him, they need a PF therefore will take Monroe or Favors(most likely), do not believe NJ will take Wes, it makes no sense.

kanebangerParticipantThey want to scam a pick out of minnesota since they have 3 in the 1st round or thats what im thinking

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantMaybe I’m weird, but I don’t want to draft someone to fit into a 15-win team. Having that kind of record should mandate drastic changes. It is kind of clear that they aren’t headed in the right direction. I know that they don’t have a true star who they can build a winner around. I like Al Jefferson as much as anyone, and I think he can be a huge part of a winning team because of his ability to score on the block, but he is not a number one guy. Love and him can’t play together, so one of them has to go. If they want a small forward, moving Love or Jefferson should be able to net a small forward just as young and just as (if not more) valuable as Johnson. Heck, they have two more firsts and a pair of seconds. It is not like there is no doubt that Johnson will be the best SF to come out of this draft. If you look at Henry, George, Babbitt, Ebanks, Hobson, Butler, James, Pondexter, Garcia, and Bjelica, the only guarantee is that Johnson is better in 2010 when he is 23 and they are younger.

NorthernLights666Participant@BTPH, good points, you’re absolutely right with that observation. Love and Jefferson can’t coexist, the more and more I hear from my boy who’s a season ticket holder and other ticket holders who have been at all the Wolves workout is that they want to trade Jefferson in order to not stunt Love’s potential growth, he’s as good as gone. BTW, trading for Randolph would’ve been a precursor to get Turner, in any deal for him Philly wanted an expiring and somebody to take on Brand. From what my boy said it would’ve been something like this:
Philly:
Zach Randolph
Corey Brewer
12th Pick
16th PickMinnesota:
Evan Turner
Elton BrandMemphis:
Al Jefferson0 - AuthorPosts
