Ill start by saying I love the Brandon Jennings and Monta Ellis… With that said I dont thinl a small backcourt will be very succrssful night in and night out… In my opinion the Bucks would bestoff by trading Jennings and moving Ellis to PG… 3 teams in the top 10 are rumored to be looking fot a PG, Portland #6, Toronto #8 and New Orleans # 10…

Heres best case senario… I dont think Portland will trade #6 for Jennings but I believe Yoronto would trade #8 for him…so trade Jennings to Toronto for the #8 pick… With thr #8 pick id draft Perry Jones from Baylor and at #12 draft Austin Rivers… Ive seen reports both should be available and even heard the Bucks may have made a promise to Rivers…. If that plays out then I turm my focus to signing Chris Kaman…
The lineup would then be PG:Monta Ellis, SG: Austin Rivers SF: Luc Richard Mbah Moute, PF: Drew Gooden, C: Chris Kaman… 6th man Perry Jones until he is ready to be a starer ay SF or PF…

I think Toronto would make that deal, not sure why the Bucks would (from purely a transactional lveel).  Have to get more for Jennings then the 8th pick – and I think they could.

I get the small backcourt comment, but Ellis isn’t a PG (but their invested at this point).

And for Toronto, Calderon must go, especially if they bring in a dominator sure fire starting PG in Jennings.

If I was the bucks, my main focus would be to sign Ersan Ilyasova because he was a beast this year for them, and he could play the 3 or 4 for the team. So there is no need to trade away Monta or Jennings. They drafted Jennings for a reason, and that was to be their point guard of the future. Ellis can’t play point neither because he has a scorer’s mentality. The Ellis, Jennings backcourt is too small but they did go on a winning streak right after the trade was made so that’s a big plus in how successful it could be. Small backcourts can work in the NBA, just look at the old lineups of Iverson and Snow, and Davis and Wesley. This backcourt combined is actually offensively more gifted then those two I just named who were successful.  Keeping the 12th pick and selecting a big man who can rebound the ball and hustle for their team would be good. A guy such as Meyers Leonard or Tyler Zeller who are both 7 footers who can run the floor in transition with Ellis and Jennings would suit them. Players who don’t need the ball in their hands to be effective as well would suit the Bucks with a backcourt of Ellis and Jennings who will be commanding the offense.

Signing Ilyasova would be a mistake… He was a beast for half a season and has been inconsistent the rest of his career… The Nets will offer him more then he is worth… I do think Ellis can play the point because he is a playmaker… He has a career average of 4.5 assists but Jennings average is just 5.4 apg… Ovet the past 5 seasons Ellis has averaged over 5 apg which is what we get out of jennings… Ellis has a higher ppg and shooting percentage… Dont get me wrong they make a dynamic backcourt but they cant guard bigger guards like kobe, wade, harden etc… Would I be upset if they keep both Ellis and Jennings, not completely but I just feel the team would be better with Ellis and trading Jennings..

Myers Leonard would be a nice fit for the Bucks, they could give him time to develop and with the team having backcourt scoring punch, his offence would not be needed right away. Drew Gooden would be a decent guy to help mentor his all round game and he’s going onto a team which always seems to perform a bit above their collective parts.
