No offense because I love your replies, but why do you type so much?  I understand you want to get your point across but why do you post extremely long replies?

Again, no offense.  I’m just interested.

Just what I do. When I feel I have something to say, I say it. I am lucky enough where I can do my job and write a lot, hence my ability to do so. I try to give evidence and educational value to what I write. If I say something or give a view point, I try too back it up with history or statistics. Not to mention that when I am bored, nothing makes me more bored than reading ridiculous single sentence posts making outrageous statements that one would not take accountability for.

If someone writes something that gets negative feedback, or is being generally obnoxious, I tend to tell them why and express as to why I feel that way. Not just say, "You’re a loser" and let them continue down the same path. If all people can say is, "You write too much" without telling me what to leave out (I have been told, "details", which is incredibly broad and not really helpful), than I draw a blank as to how to write less. When I see something on here that I feel lacks a historical perspective or statistical evidence, it gets my mind flowing as to wanting to provide that. I apologize if you already do indeed know the facts I write, but sometimes I feel people either do not know them or it has slipped there mind.

Either way, if you have constructive criticism for my posts, I am all ears. I feel I have actually been writing shorter posts for the most part, but if they are too long for your liking or you are bored reading my posts, I apologize. But, I am typing my own words and putting my own thought into them. I enjoy writing and I enjoy reading things that people have put time and thought into. If I was all one liners and generic questions, than I would not be true to myself and what I enjoy seeing. I try to be creative, hopefully provide educational content and also hope to not be overly academic, though that is sometimes difficult for me.

I have said before, I treat many of my posts like an essay, in which I provide a thesis and evidence to try and get my point across. You have even said at times you agree with what I have written, though I rarely remember debating with you or you saying much other than commenting on the length of my posts. I do not hold a grudge against you, I actually like when you call people out at times, though I think you could maybe take more accountability for your actions and maybe loosen up at times. Still, I guess once I get on a topic, it gets my mind flowing and I let a lot out through what I write. I promise you that in real life, while I may not talk as much as I write, I say what is on my mind and try to back it up as much as possible. I am hoping this maybe answers some of your questions, and would appreciate your feedback if you have any. I do not know why you posted this to me on the forum rather than in a private e-mail, but I really do not care what people see so I guess it is fine. Just do not know what your true intent is by asking a question like this in a forum topic.

No offense taken, and my e-mail is [email protected] if someone does indeed want to talk to me. I guess I aspire to be a basketball writer and feel everything I write on here is good practice.

I wasn’t trying to offend you or call you out in any way.  I was simply interested as to what drives you to type so much.  I appreciate your reply and I enjoy reading your posts.  They are always informative and you always give valid arguments to get your point across.  Whenever I see other users write more than 3-4 paragraphs, I tend to skim through it and look at their main ideas.  When I see your replies, that are much longer, I take my time and read your posts entirely.

Reading your posts, the clarity, the grammer, and the punctation actually drives me to want to write more in my own replies.  It makes me want to put more evidence in my replies and posts in order to get my point across easier.  Not that I want to top you or compete with you, but because I respect and enjoy the way you reply.

Keep up the long replies and I will keep reading them.  Hope it did not seem as if I was calling you out or anything like that, I just thought it would be easier to contact you on the off-topic forum.

Very nice of you too say that, and I appreciate the compliment. My ultimate hope is too push everyone to be the best that they could possibly be, and I always hope too step my game up as well. I am glad you feel that way and it makes me feel like I am doing my job. You are a vastly improved poster and I will keep reading what you have to write as well. I apologize for questioning your intent, just of course wondered, as I keep a mental log of what posters tend to be about and all. When I have gone at you, it has been to make you think about a certain situation and maybe put more thought into it, and it seems like you have.

Glad that you want to keep writing, believe me, I am not afraid of people writing more long, creative posts with thought put into them, I appreciate anyone who backs up there posts with evidence. I was not an English or Journalism major, I was Political Science, but I was lucky enough to have some good teaching and schooling that helped me with my writing immensely. I know I can get better, but the reason I write is that I am of course hoping people either enjoy reading it, learn from it or are willing to delve and ask questions or debate about it. I feel lucky that some people do enjoy my writing, because I honestly at times do not know if people see it when they do not respond or put a lot of thought into responses.

I also feel lucky to have written a few articles that have been posted on the site, and that the first article I ever had posted here was taken directly from something I posted on the message board. I know I am going to keep writing, I find it a great way to pass the time, and I really hope to eventually make some of these long replies into articles of some sort. I have a feeling that I possibly have written more than anyone on this site, and would not be surprised if I had written a fairly hefty novel. Do not know if that is a good or bad thing, but I am cool with it 🙂

I read everything he says too, no matter how long his posts are. I think MikeyV is the poster I respect the most. Informative and smart.

I agree with JNixon, if there is an opinion that I concur with more often than not or that I know exactly where they’re coming from, it’s MikeyV’s.  You are one of the reasons I have improved as a poster, you and other posters have inspired me to want to better myself to reach a higher level and improve.  I knew you would question my intent when I posted the thread, that’s the reason why I typed "no offense" twice. LMAO.

I’m not one to compliment often but you deserved it and I will continue reading your novel-like replies.

    Appreciate the response.
