Mike Conley to Portland

I agree Portland would love to get Conley. I still don't think Memphis would draft Rubio just because he doesn't want to play there apparently. If Memphis traded away Conley then more than likely they would trade the 2nd pick to another team and move down in the draft.

Portland wouldn't have to give up much in order to get Conley.

First off, Im not picking on you gatorheels but I am tired of people saying Rubio doesn't want to come here. They were just rumors. One of his best friends are here in Marc and if I were him I would be excited to play with Gay and Mayo.

For the Portland trade they are probably still mad at us but I would do Conley for Fernandez and 24 or Outlaw

Yes they are just rumors but how come Rubio isn't even going to visit Memphis? I don't think he would be to excited about playing with Mayo & Gay.

Rubio is going to visit LA, Sac, & OKL but not Memphis. That tells me he doesn't want to play for Memphis. Simple as that. I'm not sure why though, Memphis is a great city and they do have a lot of young talent.

haha I would accept any one of the proposed trades offered for Conley.

They can't trade him off of Memphis fast enough. His stock is going to fall and fall fast. He isn't going to be anything more than a second tier point guard in the NBA

Oden brings out the most in Conley and visa versa which is why the trade should be made in the first place, If his stock is down and Portland gets him cheaply, both may thrive. Let's face it for one reason or another, without one another both have struggled immensely.

Memphis needs depth more than anything right now... they have their two stars in o.j. mayo and rudy gay, and their low post player in marc gasol right now, they just need more depth... outlaw and sergio are both young guys who are talented and could help out most teams... outlaw was on many top five lists for sixth man of the year, is a great shooter/scorer to spread the floor for mayo and gay, and also is capable of playing three positions (sg, sf, and pf)... He is also a great glue guy, which is another thing that memphis needs... sergio gives them a backup point guard (who may have starting potential if he can be sure of his minutes and gain confidence)... i have also read that memphis wants to move mayo to the point (personally, i'm not sure he is a great fit at the point, but i'm not the coach or gm), so conley may be expendable for them...

portland's current starter at the point (steve blake) is a great facilitator who runs the offense well and hits the open shot, but he has no upside and plays poor defense... he is a below average starting point guard... portland needs a playmaking pg who is not a defensive liability... conley is both of these things... he penetrates defenses and has underrated passing ability, which is covered up statistically because of the ball domination of mayo and gay and the overall low talent level in memphis, and he plays great man defense because of his athleticism... he also is starting to develop a solid outside jump shot, which is going to be important when your the fourth option on offense, like he will be in portland... he also has a great relationship with oden (they have been best friends since childhood and have played on the same team from middle school to college), who is going to be one of the cornerstones for the blazers in the future... also, martell webster will repalce outlaw effectively with his outside shooting ability, superior defense (compared to outlaw), and good size and athleticism... he might not be the spark plug scorer that outlaw is, but he is a more complete player... also, it would open more minutes for rudy fernandez as well... trading away sergio would also open up more minutes for jerryd bayless, who shows great upside and scoring ability at the combo guard position, and could accept some of the bench scoring role that will be lost by trading outlaw...

If Memphis were to trade down at #2 to #4 with Sacramento and get Jason Thompson in the process they'd definitely take Stephen Curry over Brandon Jennings. Wallace has stated before that he wants a PG that can shoot the ball. I heard something about the Knicks being a trade partner with the Blazers too. Something about Sergio Rodriguez, but I think there's a bigger trade that's been negotiated between the two teams for the past year. The main piece of that trade is David Lee, a player the Blazers have coveted for some time now, at least according to rumors dating back to last year. There's been some obstacles though, and in a sign and trade deal for Lee the Blazers would have to have all the salaries match up because their over the cap, plus the Knicks don't want anybody's contract guaranteed past next season. The Blazers would have to give up some young talent in the process, but the Knicks would be giving you a HEALTHY starting caliber post player. Hopefully Lee doesn't demand anything more than $9 million per. Maybe Memphis is involved in the trade too, possibly with the Knicks getting the 2nd pick to draft Rubio, trading Lee, getting Steve Blake and Darko, while the Grizz get Sergio Rodriguez, Travis Outlaw, Danilo Gallinari, the 8th pick, the 24th pick, and a re-signed Nate Robinson while also trading Mike Conley to the Blazers.

i think they've discussed the possibility of teaming up conley and oden in portland before. i'm not sure though now coz they have bayless in their team. but hey, memphis screwed up portland already by signing miles and playing him a little over than 10 games. so i dont think they'd help portland...or oden to get better.

idk if memphis was trying to crew over portland... i feel like they just didn't care... teams add players to fill roster spots all the time...

i am more pissed with the league office for having that awful rule in the first place... and also for not allowing portland to claim him off waivers when he tried to get back into the league... anyways, teams just want to help themselves... they usually don't care if they also help another team... case and point, look at what memphis did with the lakers last year...

this Trade would work for both teams and Iverson got Play beside Stuckey. Hamilton can play beside Chris Paul

Bayless, Frye & 55th pick for Conley, 36th pick. And after reuniting Conley and Oden, they can trade a starbucks franchise to get Josh McRoberts back and reunite the three AAU teammates.

hamilton would definitely fit new orleans. he's a great off-ball player. he's like a poor man's reggie miller. i'm pretty sure cp3 would love to give him the ball where he needs to. he's a much better pg than AI (who's an sg stuck in a small pg's body). also, i think detroit could draft mullens for NO, they swap picks and as an addition to that, i think the hornets add another player to that deal (devin brown/ julian wright/ hilton armstrong).

I dont understand why Portland would get rid of all of these good players to get Mike Conley. He is not that good. I would just trade Bayless for Conley and call it a day

Sergio and Travis Outlaw plus their pick is a really good trade for Conley...Memphis gets another Spaniard to ease the Rubio situation, and Outlaw gives them a legit 6th man on the wing behind Gay and Mayo, they still have more than enough cap space to sign a good PF when free agency begins, and considering there won't be many teams bidding against them they can pretty much have their pick.
