IndianaBasketballParticipantDamn! One day after losing? Wow… That’s crazy. I mean, I knew it’d happen… But damn!

llperezi guess if you are gonna do it, no point in waiting around and leaving the coach out to dry. There are a number of things he did in terms of lineups that i did not agree with. Also, the players seemed to have this we have to figure it out on our own mentality while on the court. I never wish anybody fired, especially one who has won as many games as mike brown, but i cant say i didnt see this happening.
Another thing is, lebron is probably trying to figure out what more he can do to help cleavland if he returns and maybe a change of coach will get him thinking positvely about returning since there will be change at the top.

IndianaBasketballParticipantI think it was time for a change. Mike Brown took them as far as he could take them. It kind of reminds me of Tony Dungy while he was in Tampa Bay. Tony was a great coach and the Bucs were a very good team, but Tony just couldn’t take them to the next level. They needed a change and John Gruden was that guy.
Cleveland needs to bring in a coach that isn’t a fan of LeBron James.

SpencerIsHawesome2ParticipantWhoever Cleveland brings in will be whoever LeBron picks. If LeBron says hire Ronald McDonald or else I’m leaving, Ronald McDonald will be the next head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

llpereztrue. I think the cavs might hand Lebron a credit card with no limit and say “go get us a coach and some free agents and put this team together. And get yourself something nice while your at it.”

SteroidParticipantMike Brown got fired cause of Lebron James. If you guys were paying attention closely during the games, you could tell there was something going on between the coaching staff and Lebron. At one point, Lebron was screaming at one of the assistant coaches and during huddles while Mike was drawing up plays, he look disinterested. Really he acted disinterested and attached from the game almost the whole series. This was easily foreshadowed.

MagikKnickParticipantLMAO..I think thats insane…I had a feeling he’d get the boot, but not literally 16 hours after he got eliminated from the 2nd round of the playoffs, and coming of a 61 win season
But I think the right move has been made…Hes been there since pretty much the beginning of the Lebron era, and only made it to the finals once, were he eventually got swept anyway…not to put all the blame on him, but he is partially responsible for failing on Mission: Win A Ring For The King
In other news…Mike Woodson has also been relieved of coaching duties..

RickyRubio9ParticipantActually..Danny Ferry just spoke saying they are reviewing his options and he isn’t actually fired.

MagikKnickParticipantYeah, i was just gonna say that
Mike Brown has NOT been fired, as of yet….but i think he’s still on his way out

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantNext Week…Mike Brown will be fired.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/14/2010 - 8:59am #315565
Providencefriars15ParticipantTheir team had everything they needed to win they just couldnt get it done so they have to get rid of someone. They dont want to get rid of Lebron for obvious reasons so next in line is coach

LeroyJenkinsParticipantDo you think he could find another head coaching job this summer?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/14/2010 - 9:09am #315574
SteroidParticipantThis team is maxed out. They need to start making changes somewhere and they don’t have enough cap room to make changes, so it has to start at the coach. Regardless if isn’t technically fired, he will be soon.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/14/2010 - 9:15am #315582
MagikKnickParticipantI think he could find a new coaching job this summer, winning 61 games can make you a popular canidate
But unless he goes into another great situation, I think he’ll be exposed as an overrated coach
0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/14/2010 - 9:29am #315589
JNixonParticipantThis was expected. Now lets see who they pick up. I don’t even know if its safe to say Lebron will have a bunch of say in this either, because of his free agency and stuff. This is a sticky situation right now.

esperanzafleet69ParticipantMIKE BROWN IS NOT FIRED.. if this kid who posted could READ, they would have read that it says the cavaliers are review their options… and that danny ferry really wants to keep mike brown…
it is actually quite the opposite of being fired…
0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/14/2010 - 9:37am #315598
MagikKnickParticipantChillax mane, there was NUMEROUS reports on the internet saying that Mike Brown is FIRED, indefinetly.., including ESPN and SI
It just became officiial that he wasn’t like almost an hour ago when the Cavs owner had a press conference and said he wasnt..
0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/14/2010 - 9:42am #315599
Toronto16ParticipantIts now on ESPN that Dan Gilbert (Cavs owner) is refuting the report

Specialt25ParticipantIs this the FIRST time a Coach who’s Team was number 1 in the nba in record gets fired after the season.
Or was avery johnson fired also after having the best record in the leageue that year for dallas…0 - AuthorPosts
