 I was wondering what the heck is wrong with Tom Izzo why cant he get any top 10 players.  Why isnt Michigan State on every big time players list.  Tom Izzo has one of the winniest coaches in America right now.  6 final fours and 2 national championship appearances with 1 championship.  Their tempo is fast pace.  

So why are recruits shying away from this program so much?  It seems like every player on the roster is from Michigan or the border of surrounding states?  Did I miss an article explaining Izzo only goes after in state kids?

 I think its the style of play, and also good players wanna play with good players, and Michigan St. just isnt a hot school rite now….wut i mean by that is Kentucky, North Carolina, Duke, Texas, these are schools that are sending guys to the pros and play styles that showcase individual skills. Michigan St. plays a slow paced, boring, low scoring type of offense. An the conference isnt really a glamour conference like the Big East or ACC. The days of Izzo getting Jason Richardsons,Zach Randolphs, and Shannon Browns are done. Kids want the quickest way possible to get to the league and Michigan St. just doesnt really give you that oppurtunity imo.

I think teams like the sell of playing for a style that’s more pro-style. Michigan State and all the teams in the Big 10 (besides maybe Illinois) play a real methodical style of play that’s boring to watch. Izzo is a great coach, one of the top 3 college coaches IMO, but that Big 10 style of play is a hard sell for alot of the top recruits since most of the elite players or more into flashy styles and get getting out up the kinds of stats NBA teams will like.

 Michigan State never usually has gotten top ten players when recruiting, but Izzo instead looks for players who fit his style of play and he has never need big name recruits in order to compete. Last time I checked Brendan Dawson was an All- American and hes going to Michigan State
