Between the clacking noises of Gilchrist and the lisp of Giovany, I think I had a seizure.
But…he is just a kid, he can overcome that. But Jonathon is a grown ass man…..that lisp is forever.

You would think with him being in the spotlight all the time he would know how to talk in an interview! I know he is only 18 but still guy needs to learn how to form a sentence. It was hard for me to listen! I mean i don’t think he is a dumb kid. It is just that nothing he says makes much sense lol.

Well thats stupid, I agree Gilchrist sounded pretty dumb in that video but he is ahrdworker, and has a high BASKETBALL Iq maybe not in general, No team would not pick a player with the talent as the number 1 pick due to poor interview skill. Also this is one interview and he most definetly will improve

Anybody remember Derrick Rose’s first playoff game interview in 09?
That was extremely painful, he seemed so shy. Now he does interviews like nothing.

Yeah having just watched that other one I think he tries too hard to be respectful and not say anything dumb in the "awkward" interviews. He’s just shy guys, I remember thinking the same thing about Rose as a rookie, but he’s out of his shell now and is fine i interviews. The dude’s in HS, give him time to mature a bit.

The most valid comparison I can give after watching this…….Michael Gilchrist=Lenny Cooke …….Dude is just plain dumb….I just can’t pinpoint it yet. Is he Bubba or Forrest Gump dumb????

I remember back when I was in 6th grade my gym teacher which was Jeff & Jason Capel’s mother said Darius Miles was the most ignorant athlete she heard during an interview. Darius sounds like a genius to me compared to Gilchrist. Hell I would make Evan Turner the face of my company before I would EVER consider him. I can put up with the fact that Evan Turner sounds like the truck driver from Joy Ride……Ohhh Candy Cane!!!!!! I would make a lot of xmas money off of Turner with a Candy Cane commercial or spoof LOL.

He’s either very shy, doesn’t know how to speak in front of a camera, or def. needs some extra attention in class. That one year of college should help him as a person (not just player) in the NBA. I mean Ive heard some lip smackers in my day but that was pretty bad. Hit up the communication classes Mike.

Yea pick on this kid all you want. Soon you will be jockin him. I don’t think coach cal brought him to kentucky to speak. Basketball is what he does and he prob. better then all of you, so when you see him walking on stage grabing a fresh NBA fitted fall back.

Yea SDE and god forbid if an injury occurs or a lockout, then whats he gonna fall back on? Education is important even for superb athletes. I’m not sayin he’s stupid cuz the majority of the world’s citizen’s biggest fear is public speaking, but to say you just get by on basketball for sure isn’t a guarantee even with his talent.

Have we forgotten Wall, Bledsoe, and Cousins are all still mediocre at best when it comes to interiews. I dont think one year at college will save Mike, but at the end of the day he has a great court IQ so who cares.
