valentineWho do you guys compare this guy to? From scouting reports and watching him play, he looks like a less explosive Gerald Wallace, but with more refined skills at the same age/stage. Anyone else see other comparisons for Gilchrist?

SteroidParticipantYeah, I would say Gerald Wallace is a good comparison, and I do agree that Wallace is probably the more athletic of the two.

cward23ParticipantNot sure.. i can’t really think of another player with the skills, motor, athletic ability, defense, and will to win and unselfishness as far as winning over stats

nascarforthedeadParticipantI’ve heard Scottie Pippen comparisons from a lot of different people. He can do everything. Although his shot is ugly he actually shot 40.5 percent from 3 this year, 60 percent overall and 80 percent at the free throw line. And shooting is his supposed weakness.

cward23ParticipantHis shooting has gotten alot better efrom his freshman year but his form is still ugly( doesn’t matter as long as it goes in though). He’s going to the right Coach to help him get even better for the NBA

SteroidParticipantI know for one thing, there hasn’t been a high level prospect like this guy in a while. Most of the top guys in the past have been ranked mostly because of their potential. I want to see how his game translates at the college level.

apb540ParticipantI really haven’t watched enough of the kid to come up with a good one. So far I like the Ron Artest one, minus all of the mental issues of course. If I needed to think of one, maybe Andre Iguodala..?

SteroidParticipantA less athletic version of Andre… They are both pretty versitale, great 2nd second option (at the pro level), do it all type players. I’m not sure if Gilchrist will be a #1 guy in the NBA, but I might be very wrong. He just seems like a guy who will fill up the stat sheet no matter what team he’s on, but he would thrive even more playing off a great player. I’m not saying he won’t be a great player, but I’m sure some of you will understand what I mean. Well that’s what Gilchrist seems to me if you want to compare him to Andre. Whether he is that is left to be seen.

cward23ParticipantI’m very interested if he becomes a number one or number 2 guy.
of course none of us know because no one though D.Wade was gonna become a number 1 guy after his Sr. in H.S Same with Blake
Kobe( except J.West)
Dirk
Rose
Paul Pand the list goes on and on

TyrekeJonesParticipantI do not want to compare him to anyone just yet but he is such a versatile player and can affect the game in so many other ways then just scoring, he rebounds, brings intensity and energy, is a very good passer for his position and actually prides himself in defense and always wants to guard the opposing teams best player. He has a great work ethic so his jumpshot will be improving every season and he has something called heart, he puts it all out on the court and to me is a truly special player and will be a great asset to the Kentucky team next season and I believe he will have a very huge impact on that team, on and off the court.
