Henry25ParticipantAm i really the only person who still think Mike Beasley is gonna be a great player. He was totally under-used last year byu the Heat which really pissed me off, because anyone who thinks that Udonis Haslem or Dorell Wright is better than this kid is insane. Personally I would like to see him as the starting small forward next year for the Heat and we will see numbers like he put up in that magical year at K-State. I predict a breakout year with averages close to about 20-22 ppg, 8rpg, and maybe a block and a steal. I really believe this kid is gonna be great. What are everyone elese thought on Mike Beastely

OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantHe’s not gonna have any trouble scoring, as he had multiple double-digit scoring quarters last year. However, he’s not gonna get much more playing time if he doesn’t show a renewed commitment to defense. I’m not saying he needs to become a much better defender, he just needs to show more of an effort. That’s gonna be the deciding factor in whether he plays 25 minutes a game or 35 minutes a game.

Dtay2152Participanthe is real talented on the offensive end but will he be able to d up the other small forwards in the east? im thinking danny granger vince carter hedo pierce james just to name a few. i know most people have trouble with these guys but im not sure if he can even stay with them

Henry25Participantthanks for the posts guys. I agree he needs to get better on D, but everything ive heard is that he has gotten better so i hope Spoelstra gives him the starting job next year. I just dont think Miami has a lot of firepower and D Wade really needs someone to help ease the scoring burden, and Beasley is really the only guy on that team who can give Wade an extra 20 points per game

kong47272ParticipantRichardson will help a lot in the scoring department, they just have to find a way to work him in without hampering Beasly’s development.

Chicago1980ParticipantI think that he can average 20 pts and 8 rebs a game I lke his game and like was said before he was not used right but thats what happens when you have a young coach like the heat have.

llperezI think he will put up 20 points and 8-9 rebounds pretty easy. But I think he is kinda limited in some ways in terms of his effect on the entire game. He does’nt defend well. He does’nt really pass well or even look for his teammates when he has the rock. I see him having a career similar to Glenn Robinson’s who put up a lot of numbers but was never a great player overall.

Bryant24ParticipantBeasley is a beast and because of Derrick Rose people forgot about him i think once he starts on a regular basis he is going to average at least 20. Needs to work on defense though.

Dtay2152Participantthere are alot of guys in the league if given the minutes could put up 20 a night. theres a differance from being able to score alot and being a good player on a good team. beasley has a ways to go before i think of him as a good team player. he can definitely get there but i havent seen it. if he can d up better and get 7-9 boards a game and a few assists i think he will at his full potential
