It wasn’t that long ago that Dwayne Wade was thought of as being much better than Chris Bosh and much more a part of the team’s success. In fact, most people would say that Wade was closer in skill to Lebron than Bosh was to Wade. But now, Wade is playing like a shell of his former self (dude’s getting old) and it would seem pretty clear to me that Bosh is Miami’s #2 best, most important, most utilized guy. Would you guys agree? And do you think this is a permanent thing, or just the fact that Wade is in a bit of a slump lately?

Chris Bosh’s game is based on finesse and his crafty skills, while Wade relies heavily on his athletecism and explosive first step, so it’s only natural that Bosh’s productivity has longergevity because he rely less on athletecism, plus Bosh is also a few years younger and less injuries.

Bosh’s importance is magnified by Miami’s lack of size. They only play two guys over 6’8″ on a nightly basis and that’s Bosh and Chris Anderson. IfBosh isisn’t around Miami has major matchup problems which can’t be said about Wade. Wade is still very important for Miami, but he’s not as good as he was in say 2006 when he was the finals MVP. Wade is often struggling with injuries which hurts his performance. Overall their value is likely equal, but Bosh’s importance to the Heat is greater than Wade’s because of their lack of size.

I essentially agree. Bosh isn’t exactly grabbing that role by the throat though… but Wade is just turned into a glorified role player. He doesn’t create for himself consistantly, just in spurts. Shoots poorly, makes stupid plays, and gets easy buckets to boost his stats.

Proves how good Lebron is when his second best player put up 7 and 3 in his last game ay.

Added to the fact Wade is getting up there in age and could become overpaid and unwanted…

Would Miami consider trading Wade for cap relief and depth??? Crazy as that sounds…Wouldnt it be wise to see what you can get for him??? Miami doesn’t owe him anything else, so why not cut ties and leave the Team with 2 or 3 rings???

Your idea has merit… I can’t see the Heat doing it though based on the fact that Wade was essentially the agent that brought the team together in the first place.

It would take Lebron and Wade getting into a pissing match during their contract year to make a trade possible.

I like how everyone agreed with what ProudGrandpa said, yet his post still got negged.. I don’t understand this website sometimes…..

Anyways, with the way that W.O.W. has been playing he’s kinda deligated himself to third option. He’s either injured or is on a slump, or what he would like to call it, “being bored”, so his play hasn’t been what it is expected to be, we all see W.O.W. as a 25/5/5 kind of guy so when he gets 16/3/6 on 5-15 shooting and 3 turnovers, it looks even worse. Wade will be the player on the team that either wins them a Championship or looses them one. So I will agree that right now Chris Bosh is their definitive number 2 guy.

Offensively, I think Bosh’s game impacts Miami more but when you look at everything else, Wade is hands down the 2nd best player.

He’s the secondary ball-handler on Miami, he’s the guy that guards the opposing team’s best player from quarters 1-3 until LeBron guards them in the 4th.

Hell, in this series, Wade is averaging more rebounds per game than Bosh! And in the regular season, Bosh only average 1.7 RPG more than Wade. That’s a 6’11 bigman compared to a 6’4 SG. He also creates for others as he averages 5 APG. There aren’t many guys that are going to average 5 APG while being the secondary ball-handler on a team.

With that said, Chris Bosh is certainly their 2nd option offensively. But when you look at the grand scheme of things, Dwyane Wade is becoming the ultimate do-it-all glue guy.

I mean, seriously answer this question. Aside from hitting wide open jumpers and being 6’11, what else does Bosh do for the Heat?

Doesn’t get the rebound numbers because of the scheme. He sits in the perimeter to get bigs out of the key so when there are rebound opportunities Dwayne get those offensive boards because bosh is taking bigs out of the paint. And defensively, when you’re the center who’s no use to being a center, just boxing those guys out is basically a rebound, And you said wade guards their best player, well Bosh always guards the best big. How about the only reason why wade can get to the basketball (which he hasn’t been doing very well) is because bosh spaces the floor out so well, and Chris bosh is a better free throw shooter than wade!! I know Wade is the 2nd best player on the team, but that doesn’t make him the number 2 guy for most important to the team to be utilized. Honestly wade doesn’t make shots anymore, the only points he gets are free throws, and easy buckets from Lebron. Chris Bosh scores the same way BUT also makes open shots! Which is more valuable to the heat than wades ball handling.

Wade HAS BEEN The Person ”GUARDING” Paul George the LAST 2 GAMES? And Paul George has only scored a combined 25 points…Before Wade starting guarding him, he had 27 pts in game 1 and 22 pts in game 2…..

Yeah Paul George is a long 6’10 while Wade is 6’4. He’s not going to shut him down.
