Tim49461ParticipantAssuming everyone hangs around I think the biggest needs for the Miami Heat right now are looking to find a replacement for DWade. I’m no way shape or form saying they will find someone who can fill his role but someone who is bit beyond servicable.
Here are my list Players I want the Heat to target:
First Pick (26)
1. Jordan Adams (UCLA)-Could be very easily come in a be productive for them. More so than Norris Cole or any current bench player.
2.PJ Hairston- Same as Adams
3.Mitch McGary- Another big body to grab rebounds and play defense.
2nd Pick (55)
1. Deandre Kane- a little (very little) insurance if Mario wants to bolt soon
2.Isaiah Austin- Project big that wont play most likely but has a chance to be servicable one day. Store him overseas and let him develop.
3.Jahii Carson- Another project that needs a bit more time to develop but maybe in a couple years be able to come in and contribute.

PhogifyParticipantI like MJ McDaniels or Markel Brown at 26 for them too.

The QParticipantThey’ll probably give the pick away again (seriously…Festus Ezeli would look really good backing up at C for this team right now, and starting with Birdman banged up…).
I get the win now thing, but developing some young talent wouldn’t kill them either. Especially one who fit them so well like Ezeli.
If they actually keep the pick, Shabazz Napier would be a nice fit. McGary would definitely provide the big body they need.
Dinwiddie and Wilcox also could work. I really like Wilcox for them to play the more athletic Mike Miller role and maybe take over Ray Allen’s role when he rides off into the sunset.

220ParticipantThe Heat’s draft plan for the first round is more than likely to trade the pick. Since the Heat got Lebron and Bosh they’ve only had one first rounder selected in the prior draft on the roster which was Norris Cole who they acquired in a trade. Unless they see someone who they think will really fit their scheme I see a trade coming.

Chilbert arenasParticipantRay is most likely going to retire so I agree that back-up 2 guard is a big need. I think this team will do more work through free agency than the draft. They aren’t the type of team who’s going to rely on a rookie. That being said if they were looking to retool through the draft they should be targeting a 3-4 year player, PJ Hariston CJ Wilcox and Markel Brown would all be good options.
Side note:
Am I the only one that thinks Deandre Daniels is going to be out of the league in 3 years a la Donte Greene?0 - Posted on: Tue, 05/27/2014 - 4:29pm #909191

ProudGrandpaParticipantWell, they have most of the pieces already, so you want someone who can come in and be a good system guy…
…Let’s see, who’s the best flopper in this class?

ThenilonatorParticipantI think they bring James Ennis back this year too! They put him in the NBL (Aussie league) to develop and I’m not sure he could have done anymore, I think he will be in line to get some minutes next season

WITNESS2014ParticipantI imagine its a replacement for Chalmers or Allen assuming they leave that is. They could also use some depth in the front court. With that being said I could see Hairston, McGary, and a pg who can shoot the 3 and defend.

Hacker90ParticipantThink going after Mitch McGary would make sense. I would love for Miami to take Markel Brown with the 26th pick. I think he would play great with the Heat.
Markel has improved every year he was at OK State. Dude has crazy athleticism and is great in transition. Not the tallest SG at 6’4, but they have a 6’4 SG now who has had a pretty decent career and Markel has a 6’9 wingspan. Not saying he’s going to have a career like Wade at all, I just think he would be a good fit

Mr. HookShotParticipantI also like Andre Dawkins (very impressive 3pt shooter) for them with their late second round pick. They should look for 3-and-D guards, considering their LeBron does most of the ball handling anyway. In that sense, Brown would be an option (also very nice in transition, which fits the heat).

GabnosisParticipantWhat about Jabari Brown at 26th? I think he’s NBA ready, give him 20′ off the bench and he can be a good pick for the Heat.

jaydoce12ParticipantI think that they will try to trade back into the 2nd round like to Philly for 32nd and 47th where they can grab best available SG like Markel Brown and the use 47th on some inside beef or a international stash prospect. Therefore, they don’t have that 1st Round guaranteed money on the books for what could be an important free agency period.
