What should the Heat do this offseason? I believe they need to get ready for the 2010 free agency. They need to get rid of Jermaine O'Neal because he makes up over one fourth of the salary cap. They should draft a center or Power Forward because the last years they've got point guards & none of them actually "worked," in their system except Chalmers. If Chalmers develops full next year with Beasley, they draft a nice PF/C like Jeff Adrien if he falls of Jeff Pendergraph if he falls, & if they trade O'Neal, keep Wade during 2010, should they trade to get rid of Beasley and others for Amare Stoudemire & pick up Carmelo Anthony during free agency. Your thoughts.
oneals contract is up after next year so there is no need to trade him. carmelo anthony signed a longer contract so he is not a free agent in 2010.
I'm pretty sure the Heat wont be able to afford Wade, Anthony and Amare. I think idealy they want to lock up Wade and try and get another stud like a Bosh. They'd have a lot of money invested in 2 players but that tandom could be something.
i think the heat would tinker with their rosten in the offseason. i dont see o'neal going anywhere, they like his expiring contract and he's still got some left in the tank. beasley needs to start to further his development (maybe at the sf?). chalmers was huge for the heat, i only see him getting better after his rookie year. i think the starting lineup of o'neal, haslem, beasley, wade and chalmers can compete, the bench just lacks depth. only daequan is seviceable. the heat needs depth and i think they can address that with a few trades and fa signing. if the raptors don't re-sign parker, they should sign him. he's a good veteran who i think would be better coming off the bench. the heat needs a veteran pg, watson would be a nice addition if they could get him. elton brown from the d-league can help in the post.
thanks for ur comments
The heat need one more start player and they can get that in 2010. right when healthy that have a starting 5 of Chalmers, Wade, Beastley, Haslem, O'neal. They have quality backups in Cook, Jones, and maybe Wright when Healthy. They need a veteran point and some more quality bigs. Chris Quin is not a bad 3rd point. They need to trade Blount and see what they can get for him because he makes too much and they don't play him.
I think the Heat need to trade Blount and Haslem and get a a Glen Davis or if you give the team your first round pick maybe even David West. keep D- Wade and trade O'Neal Daquean Cook To the Kings for Kevin Martin. If the kings like that trade. Then you have this as you starting lineup.
Michael Beasley/Glen Davis
haslem and blount for glen davis? o'neal for kmart won't work coz salaries don't match (and i don't think the kings would trade their franchise player)
Wade may not be coming back. He may look at another team. The guy they need to look at is Ron Artest.
youre post should be in a fantasy fourm..a 1st draft pick from a playoff team like miami for d west?..d cook who is a 6th man for kevin martin a 25plus scorer...riiiiiiiiiiiiight
