KevinDurantRocksParticipantWe all know the turn of events in Miami over the last few hours and the endless days of speculation have come to an end. For Miami though i fear they could be taking a critical miss step if they don’t approach filling out there roster with care. Reports have been surfacing that Miami may ship Micheal Beasely to Minnesota for a draft pick in part to get Bosh Lebron and Wade max deals. And it is rumored that they are targeting players like Mike Miller, Kenyon Dooling, and Jason Williams.
My problem with this is that isn’t this super team suppose to represent giving up money, and ego for the team? I would like to seem them go after a better younger player then just a draft pick for Beasely. And you can sign a few savvy vets but i want to seem them sign youth or else there going to turn out to be more like Cleveland team putting a bunch of old guys around Lebron (yes i realize they did put Wade and Bosh on this team hahah)
Miami, ADD YOUNG TALENT THATS WHY BOSTON WORKED THEY DIDN’T ADD ONLY OLD PEOPLE! CAUSE THE YOUNG WILL MATURE AND CARRY THIS TEAM FARTHER IF YOU WANT A DYNASTY

PurpleMonkeyDishwasherParticipantMiami is not the Celtics… the Celtics were all 30 yrs old or approaching 30. Wade is the old player here at 28 yrs. old.
Miami has to first put together a roster for this season before they bother with young players.0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/09/2010 - 6:34am #350238

KevinDurantRocksParticipantI’m not ignorant to the situation but as i posted above they need young talented big men and even if you don’t qualify those in that category there the ones i though of off the top of my head. I’m saying sign 4 vets but sign 4 young players don’t overdo either side of the equation

NashyMingParticipantBeasley is already traded to the TWolves for a 2nd round pick and a 1st round swap (I wonder who has the say in this as it was not disclosed).
Mike Miller is rumored to be going to the Heat and it is likely if they care actually spare 5 mil for him. That would mean LBJ, Wade, and Bosh may take less than max.
With LBJ, Wade, Bosh, and Mike Miller, the Heat does not have money left to go after anyone else other than minimum contracts.
In order to get quality players at minimum, you have to go after the old folks, the ring chasers. Solid/good young players would not go to Miami for the minimum because they should try to make as much money as possible and try to get as much play time as possible.
If the Heat is trying to make a serious run this year, they would go after veterans who are still chasing rings. Adding young players would be through draft or the use of MLE next season.
There are quite a lot of decent ring chasers that would probably take minimum:
Michael Finley, Jerry Stackhouse, Shaq O’Neal, Matt Barnes, Raja Bell, Brian Skinner, Rasho Nesterovic, Eddie House, Jason Williams, Kenyon Dooling, Tony Battie, Juwan Howard, Allen Iverson, Stephon Marbury, etc. They can also keep Joel Anthony and Carlos Arroyo and maybe even get Alonzo Mourning coming out of retirement.

PlatypusParticipantcant see Bell, Banres, and Shaq taking the minimum
Bell would be better to get than Mike Miller, they are both great shooters but Raja brings the Defense that Miller cant
