After being amnestied by the Lakers, and stating he does not want to stay in the league we all thought we were witnessing the end of the one of the most curious and crazy players to grace the courts in quite a while.
However, he did a complete 360 from what he said a few days ago and has reportedly joined the Knicks!
I, for one, am glad to see him stay. Even though he is very (understated) unpredictable player and to put it simply a bit of a headcase, he just adds something to the NBA that would be missed. I enjoy seeing his antics and have had a good laugh at some of the extraordinarily weird things this man comes up with.
Like him or not he is a character and we have not seen the last of him.
Word is it is a 2 year deal, not many details to come to light of as of yet
I think this is a decent move by NYK, brings toughness, defense, and experience. But did they get that much better? Basically replaced offensive minded Copeland with Defensive minded Artest. Gives alittle more flexibility in the lineup too.
He is a mere shadow of the former player he once was. Even at his prime he was never quick, now he is extremely slow for a player for his position. His antics have become a little bit more off the court now, because he isn't able to back it up with his play anymore.
I want to also share one of my favorite Metta moments
Here he tells the sotry of how he saw his parents having sex and that is how he is so insane. Either way, true or not it is just funny because it would be such a werid thing to joke about in the first place.
'There was food everywhere, and I saw a frank. And I was hungry. So I grabbed the frank, and I pulled on it. And my dad goes “Owwowowow.” Because I had grabbed my dad’s dick.
And he goes, “Don’t be grabbing my dick!” And he punched me. I said, “Don’t punch me! I thought it was a frank. I saw the frank on the bed and I grabbed it.” And he said, “That’s not a frank. That’s my dick!” And he punched me in the head.
And that’s how I got so crazy.'
Oh Metta, please make these (final?) two years as werid and odd as your first 16.
It seems a bit like all that talk about not wanting to play ball anymore was simply a ploy to be able to choose what team he would play for rather than being forced to go somewhere else.
I actually don't find the weird stuff he does or say funny. The cheap shots he does it seems every season, and that contradicting name of the type of person he is on the court makes him even more of idiot scum bag to me.
He will forever be Ron Artest to me, going into the standing to beat up a fan. I will never forget that moment
Not trying to defend Ron's character or actions, but I do think it'd be nice if a couple of those heckling fans got a punch in the face from a player for once.
Ahhhh im glad he's somewhere. Even though I think he is a terrible player, his antics are always interesting.
On a side note i love your avatar nick5354 im a big DGD fan myself, cant wait for their new album.
