Here’s a interesting trade Idea I have and the thinking for both teams

Toronto gets: Zach Randolph, Tony Allen and a 2012 1st round pick

Memphis gets: Andrea Bargnani, Jose Calderon and Linas Klezia

Toronto: You get a 20-10 player who might actually stay, if the money is right. With DeRozan being a good scorer, without the jumpshot yet, Randolph and DeRozan can emerge as a nice 1-2 combo, with Ed Davis getting some time at Center and being solid as a rebounder. This also allows Toronto to keep thier 2011 lotto pick and add a 2012 1st round pick to the fold.

Memphis: You lock in. The main issue with Memphis is the lack of locking players in for the franchise. If you let Randolph walk, I think thier no chance he returns. Gasol? I think you can get him back. You come in with a really young lineup ( Conley, Mayo, Gay, Bargnani, Gasol) with Henry, Calderon, Arthur and Klezia as your bench. If you want another 2012 pick, or move up in the 2011 draft you can move Mayo

    Thoughts?

Memphis is not taking on that much salary. Jose makes 9-10 mill for 3 more years and they pay Conley similar money, no? Thats a lot of money to spend on pg’s when neither one has a very complete game. I get your point about trying to lock up some guys for the long term but the deal you proposed is a little excessive.
