This will never happen as I can’t see Anthony going to a small market team, but Memphis would be an ideal fit for him and Memphis.

Memphis need a scorer and they already have some great defense in place with Gasol, Allen and Conley and Anthony could be that scorer to really make the team a legit threat for a title.

I mean look at the massive impact Courtney Lee has been since arriving and contributing about 17ppg a game, imagine a guy who will likely get 25ppg and could go off on any night?

I know it will never happen but I just think it will be a nice fit.

Chandler Parsons would be a good pick-up for Memphis as well.

Lebron James, Kevin Durant, and Paul George would also be good fits for Memphis.

How could Memphis possibly afford him? They already have 61 million commited for next season and will likely not trade Conley or Gasol in a potential deal- the only two assets for a re-building team that Memphis has. If New York is trading Melo, their needs to be a significant amount of first-round picks and young talent involved.

I said it will never happen, it was HYPOTHETICAL and they could amnesty Randolph if they wanted. That right there is more than enough money, allowing Ed Davis to start at PF.

The best fit for Melo is to play with a health defensively dominant big and a complemetary forward, like Kyle Anderson. A true pick and roll PG would be really helpful too. Add a sharpshoot 2 guard with defense and athelticism and we’re talking something here.

Time for me to put my bias Bulls hat on.

I actually do think theoretically the Bulls are a good fit for Melo. If Rose is healthy (lol, I know) he should at least be better than any player Anthony has played with in his career.

As ball hoggish as Melo is, Thibs would be a good influence on him, and the way the Bulls offense is, having 1 guy taking a ton of shots (assuming he’s actually good at it) might not be that bad a thing.

Melo and Rose is a nice one two punch, and I think both would respect each other enough to share the basketball. Melo will never be an ace on defense, but on that team, with that coach, you are absolultely maxing out his defensive potential. He doesn’t need to be a star defensively either for the Bulls to still have a great defense.

Now the Bulls have been furiously clearing cap, and will continue to do so. If they somehow came out of next offseason with a team of Rose, Butler, Melo, Mirotic, and Noah, with Gibson and 2 mid first rounders off the bench? That would be a contender if nothing more.

If that happened, the Bulls would be competing with the heat and pacers for the top seed in the east. I hope it does happen. Melo had his best years when he played with iverson. If rose comes back healthy then those two would fit great together. The other players the Bulls have all fit with those 2. Butler is a defensive player who can gaurd the best wing on the other team. Noah and Gibson would lock down the paint. If they could get Mirotic to come over and be a good scorer off the bench that would be great. They have done good finding a bench every year and they would have 2 rookies coming in help them down the road. That is a championship caliber team.

Exactly. If Mirotic joins that team, their wouldn’t be a ton of pressure on him to be good immediately.

The Bulls bench has been bad this year, so hopefully if they hit on a draft pick or two, they can add some more depth to that group.
