BigDParticipantForgetting any history, right here right now, who would you want taking the last shot to win the game?
Melo or Kobe?

db24kb24ParticipantKobe

goneParticipantSomeone is gonna bring up the clutch percentage thing lol

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantHere come to 82game.com stats that are usually skewed and inaccurate.
I think I would take Kobe but Melo is a very very close 2nd.

M.GarveyParticipanti think Melo was injured earlier this year, how else could you explain shooting 40% from the field? even though his career fo 45% is a bit too low in my opinion he should be closer to 50% at his position, height, and most importantly skill set.
Now back to the question, I’ll take Kobe 1, Melo 2

goneParticipantI’d put Dirk second cause he did it in the finals

tuck243ParticipantI’m a Kobe fan… But dude is shooting 18% in 4th quarters this year… Plus the past decade Melo has had the best % out of them… Give me Melo… Actually Kobe is either playing really trash or really good no in between… And I hate that about him…

llperezkobe’s been on a hot streak in the final seconds recently. He had like 3 straight games recently where he hit shots in the final 20 seconds to win it. And yeah, my answers kobe.

andxxxParticipantThis season on the last 20 seconds of a game to tie or take a lead in 4th quarter or overtime:
Kobe Bryant-(2/12)
Carmelo-(2/6)
Considering Carmelo has made as many shots, or actually more if you include today’s game against the Bulls, on half as many shots yeah I think Melo is going to be my choice.

DanEboyParticipantIsn’t it funny how so many Knicks fans were crying for Melo to be traded when Lin was stealing the show? So many said Melo was the problem they couldn’t win, he didn’t mesh well with Lin.
Silly New Yorkers.

aamir543ParticipantI love Kobe, but the fact of the matter is that 60 degree fadeaways are hard for anyone to hit, and so often you see Kobe taking such a difficult shot in those situations. I’ll still take Kobe, but Melo isn’t far behind
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/08/2012 - 2:37pm #656831
redsoxfreak724Participant1. kobe
2. dirk
3. melo
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/08/2012 - 2:46pm #656834
joecheck88ParticipantI’ll take Melo for the last shot. I’ll take Kobe for all the shots before that. Lol
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/08/2012 - 2:47pm #656835
joecheck88ParticipantBut seriously, I take Kobe every time. You can have your stats, I have seen that man hit more clutch shots than almost anyone combined.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/08/2012 - 2:58pm #656837
andxxxParticipantjoecheck88 It doesn’t mean anything to you at all that Melo has made more last second shots this year, including today’s game, on less attempts than Kobe? I understand going with the eyeball test, but why would you completely ignore who’s having the better year in last second shot making?
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/08/2012 - 3:15pm #656845
Toronto16ParticipantKobe
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/08/2012 - 3:15pm #656848
joecheck88ParticipantBecause its Kobe. Nothing against Meli but I think Kobe is more clutch. Plus, I think Kobe hits more big shots to put teams away. Dude is a baller.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/08/2012 - 3:19pm #656847
llperezi dont know about those stats. I mean kobe just drilled a three the other day vs the nets with under 10 seconds left to go up by 4. If he misses then the nets have the ball down one and time to run a play. To me that is clutch but doesnt fall under those stats since the lakers were up one point as opposed to trailing or being tied. He hits tons of clutch shots like that where they are up a few or down a few so you cant just look at if the games tied or whatever.

ChrisCrossParticipantshoot, I’d be happy with any of them

M-DYMESParticipantGive me the best pure scorer in the game…Melo.
Does it all. 3 ball, bullying in the post, bullying on the drive, mid-range, putback, fade, hits free throws…etc.
He is the most dangerous scorer with the ball in his hands b/c he can take you any way.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/08/2012 - 6:11pm #656875
cabbycabParticipantDunno…. I still take Kobe. Kobe always seems so in control with the ball in those situations. I would actually take Durant or Dirk to take the last shot given the choice.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/08/2012 - 7:06pm #656881
EntropyParticipantCarmelo is better when hitting the last shot, so him.Very surprised people are saying Kobe.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/08/2012 - 7:27pm #656883
bloodshyParticipantI’d take Durant above either. Other contenders that I might take above Kobe/Melo are Dirk, KLove, DWill, Nash. Out of Melo/Kobe, right now I’d take Melo, but tomorrow I could change my mind.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/08/2012 - 10:47pm #656902
Future_Scoutkd above kobe and melee,r but mamba is known for his crazy game winners in the playoffs
…
idk if its because durant calls so much D attention but westbrook is cold on those OKC comebacks where durant goes like 7/7 in the fourth
0 - Posted on: Mon, 04/09/2012 - 4:43am #656916
phila9012Participantmelo or durant. It is hard to defend a 6-10 with range to the three point line and can beat you off of the dribble (Durant). Kabe 3 years ago, Melo and Durant is a toss up. They are all good but you kobe lovers have to admit he is slowing down. While Melo is in his prime and Durant is starting to hit his prime
0 - Posted on: Mon, 04/09/2012 - 6:01am #656942
bobbybParticipantThey are both clutch, i remember in high school we used to argue " who would you rather have" Pam Anderson or Carmen Electra. Like it really makes a diff.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 04/09/2012 - 7:40am #656971
PulseGlazerParticipantMelo – not only does he shoot better in those sitautions, but he’s more willing to pass.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 04/09/2012 - 8:02am #656983
druneave3Participantthis might change everyone’s mind.
ok my phone isn’t letting me paste website but just google "Kobe Jordan clutch" -first search result. Really interesting article.
