Mchale is a Freaking Idiot

I can now officially say I have Zero Faith in the Minnesota Timberwolves. I've been a huge fan of them since they drafted Kevin Garnett, but year after year all of us have been left to wonder what truly was the right combination to build around him. Year in and year out we've seen talent come in and out of the franchise, but we've been left with nothing but headaches. So whats the only reasonable thing to do? Trade the only player in Minnesota history to matter to that team. Now I must say it wasnt a bother to me that he was traded, granted I believe Kevin Garnett will knock Scottie Pippen off of the "50 Greatest NBa Players of All Time Pedestal," but you've gotta admit when he hoisted that trophy up you felt every emotion he embodied. Anger, Despair, Frustration, Hope, Fear, and etc. Yet He achieved what he couldnt do in Minnesota and if he stayed prolly never would have at this rate. Yet when it comes to Minnesotas Front Office decision making, baffled is the only word that comes to my mind. Next to Lebron James no other franchise in my mind has shunned to put formidble talent around one of the leagues greatest superstars. From the Joe Smith debacile this team was destined to failure. After losing not one, not two, but three first rounds draft picks in 5 seasons your solution to the draft dilema is Ndudi Ebi? Give me a break. We've passed up on guys like Josh Howard, Gerald Green (Who should have never been traded away from this franchise), Danny Granger, Brandon Roy, Rudy Gay, and Brandon Wright for the likes of Ndudi Ebi, Rashad McCants, Randy Foye, and Corey Brewer and now the latest mishap of Kevin Love. I must admit when draft day came, I couldnt possibly think of a way of Minnesota &$#%#&@! this up. They had OJ Mayo in their hands and a worst case scinerio Bayless or Westbrook would have still been on the board. So when the Timberwolves pick was announced i'm sure many of you can agree with me and say that for once this franchise finally made a move in the right direction. Drafting Chalmers was a brillant move, but trading in my mine the third best pure ponit guard in this draft away for future considerations? Please... Drafting Pekovic was a good move... for the next gm and head coach who take the reigns in Minnesota. We Needed help now, not after Al Jeffersons contract expires. So when I fleel asleep at 12am that night I rest assured that I would be purchasing an OJ Mayo jersey the following morning and to my dismay I wake up to sportscenters cover story of a blockbuster trade. I'm sure the NBA had some doing in this one, as much as they didnt want announcers to deal with both jay williams playnig on the same team they would much rather steer far clear from any "Gay-Love Jokes." I just dont see the gain in Minnesota for this one. If Mchale plans on winning fans over with this one he's got to realize this game isnt played with short shorts. What he was once then and what he believes Kevin Love will be are a far cry from another. I dont think Kevin Love will be a Bust by any means like most of you, but trying to justify OJ Mayo and Junk for Love, Miller, and Junk really will take a long time for this franchise to recover. I truly believe OJ Mayo will become one of if not the best player out of this draft, but maybe its me. This isnt a white mans game anymore Mchale so you can throw your short shorts back in the closet and regret ever taking the reigns of a now hopeless franchise. At least we've got one thing to look forward to next year, a top 5 pick in the draft.

Say what????

I agree that McHale is a friggin idiot - I also agree some past draft moves were idiotic. But the Mayo/Love trade was a fantastic trade for the Timberwolves. They acquired the 2nd best big man in the draft, they got a fantastic outside shooter, and they got cap space. All this for what might be the next Harold Miner. I'm sorry, I'm not convinced in the least that Mayo is going to be an all-star. He's the Reggie Bush of the NBA. Everyone ravaged the Houston Texans for taking Mario Williams, now he's one of the best players in the NFL. McHale had the courage to get Love and a very good player in Miller along with some bit parts and some additional cap room. How can you go wrong with that??? Even David Aldridge said it's one of the best trades he's seen in a long time (in the wolves' favor)

"Not a white man's league anymore"???? So...white men can't play anymore??? What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I've ever heard. Everyone in this forum is now dumber for having read it. May God have mercy on your soul. McHale is lucky to be employed and has made many many mistakes, but this is not one of them.

Oh, and maybe learn how to spell when you go off on a rant...

Future looks nice

Hey... Kevin Love definetly fills a need for the T-wolves. Their starting line of Jefferson,Love,Gomes,Miller and Foye is not bad at all! I even think in two years they could be a playoff contender. Plus they have key reserves suchas McCants and Brewer. Not badd.
Ps. They could use a backup center. Someone like Kwame Brown would not be a terrible decision... even though he is a bum. Not a bad bench player though.

You have bad contracts on

You have bad contracts on your team because you choose to give players who were "unworthy" of those contracts. Whose fault is that? Not the fans of course, but the executives within the organization. I can't stand how much NBA athletes are overpayed it's truly pathetic to think how much someones athletic ability is worth for a good say 10-15 Seasons. I stand firm though about teh white comment, this isn't a white mans league anymore. The days of short shorts and jump shots are long past this games generation. The League now is focued upon Skills and Athleticism. I'm not saying white men don't belong in this league because that's far from the truth, but the simple fact is that the majority of african american basketball players are greater than the majority of white basketball players. Mchale made this trade because of his reincarnation/personal love affair with himself. The Fact of the matter is when both O.J. Mayo and Kevin Love hang up their jerserys, OJ Mayo will be the better player. For us as a franchise we've waited so long to see this team headed in the right direction, but for me personally I would have rather stayed at bay with an Al Jefferson-OJ Mayo combo then hope for the best with Mike Miller and Kevin Love in the mix. I would have gladly taken another trip into the lottery to build a formitable trio next season around Mayo and Jefferson. Heck at this rate if OJ Mayo isnt good enough for the Timberwolves whats to say Demar Derozon is next season? I just don't see the starting 5 of the Twolves competing with many, if any teams next season.
Oh and about the Reggie Bush and OJ Mayo comparrison? Please... Just because they went to the same school doesnt mean they'll go down the same path. Mayo has one of if not the brightest future out of anyone within this draft class. I do believe Love will be a "formidable" force within the NBA, but he'll never be the player OJ Mayo will be.

Mayo

Mayo will be a great scorer but little else. It's not like he's ever going to be as important a player to his team as Rose will be and he won't be carrying a team single handily like Lebron. So stop acting like they gave up the next Michael Jordan and grow up. I'm tired of rants like this from narrow minded losers like you.

Anyone who trades away OJ

Anyone who trades away OJ Mayo and Brandon Roy for Kevin Love and Randy Foye needs to lose their job. Doesn't help that the team has never gone ahead of where they were supposed to in the lottery though. The same or lower every year.
