Andrew1984ParticipantWhat are you looking to see tonight? Who will take big shots down the stretch if it’s close? Who is unselfish? Who defends even though it’s an exhibition game? Clues as to where Myles Turner is going? Okafor is the favorite for MVP, but who is your darkhorse candidate? (I like Emmanuel Mudiay and Kevon Looney to raise some eyebrows). For Duke and UNC fans, how is Tyus Jones-Joel Berry going to look?
Which college’s fans will come away most optimistic? Duke, UNC, Kansas, Kentucky?
Has anyone seen any of the players in person this year?

Memphis MadnessParticipantLast year had a ton of hype. This year not so much. Although the hype quieted down a bit as the year progressed (and as Jabari, Wiggins, and Embiid failed to get out of the first round). Only Julius Randle is still dancing — and for my money I might even take Randle over Jabari Parker. Randle can still rebound the heck out of the ball if he is struggling to score. I don’t see Jabari Parker being able to be a beast on the boards night in and night out.
Hopefully, hype for this year’s class grows as the year goes on. It feels like there are some more bigs in this year’s class. Hopefully they do well.
I also want to see Mudiay. He sounds promising as a 6’5 point guard. He’s going to SMU right? I might try to catch him in action next year.
One thing I like to see is the highflyers. Who are the best dunkers out there? I missed the dunk contest… anyone on par with Andrew Wiggins or Chris Walker?

MorseWillParticipantEmbiid wasn’t playing, but wiggins and Kansas did win their first game. Just clarifying Kansas didn’t flop in the tourney quite as quickly as Duke. On top of Randle still dancing, I think you have to mention the Harrison twins as they have hit some big shots, and played pretty well the past few games.
I think Oubre and Mudiay are a couple guys with upside who could shine in the all-star game setting. Will be interesting to watch

JoeWolf1It will be fun to watch these guys dunk and run fast breaks, but the McDonalds game doesn’t do jack for player analysis…still fun, though, watch it every year.

Lotto StudParticipantMore importantly I would like to see which PG gets everyone involved without having the me first syndrome. If I can see 5 or more assist I will be pleased.

JoeWolf1I hear you. It’s fun when a good distributer gets going being unselfish. Usually results in a lot of oops. You’re right, 5 dimes is on the high end.

For_Never_EverParticipantI wanna see if Emmanuel Mudiay is actually a point guard.
Because I’m seeing a SG that can pass, but everyone is in love with the thought of having a very tall PG.
He looks 6’5.5 with already a solid build around 210lbs.

Lotto StudParticipantI wonder how comparable he will become to Andrew Harrison after this game on the plus & negative side of things.

For_Never_EverParticipantI fell for the Andrew Harrison hype thinking he could be a 6’5 point guard.
The only sure thing I know about Emmanuel Mudiay compared to Harrison he is the better athlete. I think he is taller, bigger and longer too.

For_Never_EverParticipantHe shares the same major weakness I think with Anrew Harrison. Emmanuel Mudiay is a overall great athlete, but he isn’t quick, lacks blow by speed. That is almost given that you must have to be a PG in the league.

PhillySports0ParticipantIve seen Karl Townes play around 3 times… I question his actual post up game for college but I’m sure Coach Cal will improve on it.. I expect him to bring up the ball on fast breaks and dish no look assists like he always does in these kinds of game

OhCanada-ParticipantI havent watched the majority of these guys play other then Lyles, Jones, Okafor, Townes, and Alexander. Really excited to see Mudiay perform. From what Ive seen from those three I do expect Alexander to dang near break the record for rebounds, rack up putbacks and easy dunks. He comes hard all the time which is the type of maturity we wont see from all prospects.
Trey Lyles baby! Next up for Canada! Hopefully he doesnt get glued to the bench like Malcolm Lee this year. I think his offensive skills translate to the NBA better than anyone in this class.

Rip255I can’t believe we actually get this game in Australia since American HS basketball isn’t exactly a mainstream sport.
Just saw the myles turner interview. I liked his attitude and he spoke well. Only one interview, but he seems like a bright guy.

Rip255I agree. Do you think it’s because these bigs have had very little experience matching up against players of a similar size, or just still a bit raw? I’m guessing they’re used to dunking over 6’6" centres in high school and its a bit different coming up against guys their own size.
I’ve liked some of the shot-blocking by the bigs but I notice that these high-school games produce big shot-blocking numbers (possibly due to the point above).

WITNESS2014ParticipantSo glad that D’Angelo Russell is going to Ohio State. He will be the man there on day 1. a 6’5 sg who can pass and handle the ball like a point guard, has great bball iq, great perimeter shooter and has the length and foot speed to be a good defender too. He might need to add some strength but wit his frame he should be fine. Im impressed with Tyus Jones too as I thought he was ovverated but now I see why he gets the hype.

Lotto StudParticipantI’m watching the game in spurts, so far Kelly Oubre and Stanley Johnson are standing out the most to me with a little bit of Emmanuel Mudiay.
Will lock in and watch it in full tomorrow online.
Does anyone have a good read on Isaiah Whitehead?

Rip255Justin Jackson is having a great game as he’s been very efficient and hasn’t "tried too hard" given the big occasion.
Okafor seems like a future pro. I can see him having Damarcus Cousins/Al Jefferson level offensive skills in the future with that size and footwork. Maybe he has a little more mobility than those 2.
I can see the hype about Mudiay too. I can see the Tyreke Evans comparisons. He’s non-stop, even if not the most skilled.

Chilbert arenasParticipantOkafor doesn’t have the quickness of Cousins. That’s more of a compliment towards Cousins than knock on Okafor.
Tyler Ulis is much smaller than I could have imagined, he’s certainly no one and done. Could see him transferring at some point.
Honestly I haven’t seen many one and done candidates. Okafor, Mudiay, maybe Johnson, Towns, and Alexander.
