I'm starting to think he's gonna be a huge bust. He's tempur-pedic soft. Not good at Anything.
His shot is not good enough, not explosive or particularly athletic but mobile, poor post up game (that turn around 15 footer is garbage), bad on defense.
Terrible prospect, def. not a lotto one. Straight up garbage man in the NBA.
I'm watching the Florida State game, and he's not living up to his expectations this year, but he's active and makes plays that way. He definately needs to expand his game, but since he's probably not a lotto pick this season, I don't think he'll be viewed as a bust. He might come back for another year at this point, but if he doesn't continue to develop he might risk falling out of the 1st round. People expected him to blow up, but he may be a 3 or 4 year player.
Expect him to blow up?
What kinda of high ceiling does he have?
Yeah, after the NCAA tournament, last season, people expected him to be a much better player this season.
I think he's a guy that probably looks a lot better with no one guarding him, if you know what I mean. When you're adding new elements to your game and you don't have a ton of reps, you can usually pull them off in practice or playing one on one, but when in a game, that's when they often don't work. McAdoo looks like he's got a lot of that going on this season.
I still think he's an energy guy in the NBA, even if he starts to prefect a move or two he's working on now. I think it's probable he'll end up like Sam Young. I think he might have a ceiling of 8 or 9 ppg and 4 rpg.
As a UNC fan I agree, and to think he was compared to James Worthy :( he looks more and more like a hustle guy off the bench that will get his baskets by cleaning the glass or cutting to the rim.
He has a body like Blake Griffin but plays like Kathy Griffin.
Kathy is Blake's mom. Where'd you think he got the red hair?
Did Ian Miller die?
No but he's on his last breath at FSU, looks like he's fallen out of favor.
He needs to go back to school next year and learn to attack off the dribble and shoot a pull-up jumper...
who? Miller or McAdoo? lol
with the dagger. UNC has good wing men in Hairston and Bullock. Imagine if Marshall stayed, McAdoo would probably be still in the top 10 or even top 5 with him getting good shots due to Marshall
when evaluating HS talent for the NBA, its not much substance to go off of, just bits and pieces. that doesnt mean the evaluators are incorrect..but its just an assessment of what a player should become should they develop. McAdoo hasnt developed. thats not to say he is James Worthy, lol, thats absurd. You should however see noticeable progression year after year and not regression. When Vince Carter came to UNC he was a very raw player. I can name many others likewise. McAdoo has not improved in any area but I agree with DondiJohn, if KMarsh was there, he would be looking a lot better than he is.
I still like McAdoo and feel like he still has lots of talent..... I was to high on him at the beginning of the yr... def. not a lotto pick this yr.... if he goes back to school next yr... he has nothing to lose...im sure he knows what he has to work on
The beginning of the season I had him going top 5. Boy, was I wrong about him.
I think James Mac could be a Darrell Arthur type, he needs to lose the "pretty Boy" ish and man up. If he gets an intensity to him, he can be a Darrell Arthur. A 7th or 8th hustle guy who can get you 8 and 5 a game
