Mayo to Pacers...
There is no way this is true if it is, wtf. The bulls offered way more than this, and the Bulls were willing to give more than twice this offer for Mayo. If this is true, which I believe is not then shame on the Bulls for not going after this guy harder if he really was available.
Cleveland should be ashamed of themselves, Chicago should be ashamed, New jersey should be ashamed, Denver should be ashamed. Half the teams in the NBA should be ashamed with themselves. you need to put forthmore of an effort to acquire Mayo especially if you only need to give up value worth a 13th to 18th 1st round pick! unbelievable...
Also Brooks to Phx just a rumour tho
...
Love this for the Pacers. Also, for my fantasy team. If Mayo does not start on Indiana, I give up a great deal of hope in humanity. Now if Indiana could only get more of a front court. Still, not bad value at all for the Pacers, guess they sold McRoberts really high. Not to mention, they may not even be in the lottery as they are competing for the 8 seed in the play-offs. Memphis traded its 3rd pick they acquired from Minnesota for Kevin Love, that of OJ Mayo, for McRoberts and a mid first rounder (in all likelihood). Than, they trade their pick this year (another mid first rounder, more than likely higher than the one they receive from Indiana, which is good at least) and the 2nd pick in the draft last year for Shane Battier. They must want that 7-8 seed REALLY badly. Not a good day to be a Memphis fan if you had much hope for the future.
The trades happened they just happened late. They arent official yet. The trade is Mayo and a 1st round draft pick for McRoberts. Thats not a typo.
NVM it was a typo Im watching NBA.TV. Mcroberts and a 1st for Mayo.
McRoberts is one of my friends, so I hate to see him go. I wish him nothing, but the best in Memphis.
Welcome to Indianapolis Mayo. I'm not a big fan or as high on him as others, but I like the deal. He should start immediately.
Memphis should be ashamed. Other teams offered stuff, but they wanted McRoberts and the Pacers pick which is going to be like the 15th pick now, I think Mayo solidifies them into the playoffs while the Bobcats just pretty much took themselves out of the race.
This is such a bad trade for Memphis, and on top of that, they trade Thabeet and a 1st round pick for Battier. That trade is not bad beccause Battier is just what they needed, but it is terrible when considering they just gave up the 2nd, and 3rd picks in the drafts and didn't get a superstar, or anything close to it.
This of the players they could of and should of had, like Love and Curry. It is just so bad.
The trade did not get done in time, Mayo is still a Grizzly.
Lol hold the Mayo!! That was funny.
The Memphis Grizzlies have agreed to trade O.J. Mayo to the Indiana Pacers for Josh McRoberts and a 2011 first-round pick, league sources said Thursday, but it is unclear whether the teams beat the NBA's 3 p.m. ET deadline to finalize the transaction. Mayo Mayo Grizzlies owner Michael Heisley expressed concern that the two teams might have missed the deadline, the Memphis Commercial Appeal reported. The deal gives the Pacers a coveted scorer while giving the Grizzlies additional cap space in the summer of 2011 plus a lottery protected pick from Indiana. "Part of the NBA is trying to manage your personnel and O.J. has always been someone I thought highly of," Heisley told the Commercial Appeal. "It is with deep regret that I think we need to bring another power forward in. We're overloaded at the two-three position. So I think it's probably best for the Grizzlies and best for O.J. that he'll get to play for a team where he can get a lot more minutes." The Pacers have been looking for a proven scorer at the two-spot for weeks, and their search intensified in the past week when Mike Dunleavy broke his finger. Mayo was the No. 3 pick in the 2008 NBA draft; the Grizzlies traded the rights to Kevin Love to acquire Mayo on draft day. While Mayo got off to a hot start for Memphis, he's struggled this year and was recently taken out of the starting lineup. Mayo received a 10-game suspension by the NBA in late January for violating its drug policy and said he believes an "energy drink" he bought at a gas station contained the substance dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) that led to a positive test. Weeks before his suspension, Mayo and fellow guard Tony Allen fought on a team flight over an unpaid debt from a card game. The Pacers hope that Mayo can break out of his slump and move into their starting lineup as they try to complete a playoff push in the Eastern Conference. The team is 9-3 under new head coach Frank Vogel and has the inside track on the eighth seed in the East. For the Grizzlies, the move is an admission that they made the wrong choice 2½ years ago. Love was selected for the 2011 All-Star team and currently is the best rebounder in the NBA. The Grizzlies have coveted McRoberts for a while and he could provide some insurance, should they be able to re-sign him this summer. Chad Ford is ESPN's NBA Insider.
ESPN just reported it as a lock........Lance Stephenson will not play at all now especially the acqusition of Mayo. I would have loved to see him in either Houston, Cleveland, Chicago.
I'm not sure but they reported it as GOOD just before Around The Horn
I have nothing against him to Indy as long as he plays, but I wanted to see him go to a big market franchise.
One ESPN and NBA.com, it says the deal is dead though.
I hope it goes through. Mayo would have a chance to be who people think he can be in Indy. And if he's successful, the fans here will really support him.
What does the "addition" of Mayo mean for Stephenson?
RealGM is saying the deal was suppose to be a 3 team deal with Brandon Rush going to the Hornets being part of the deal.

Pacers give up 1st rd pick in what's considered lousy draft.
