aamir543ParticipantA couple weeks ago I was wondering where the hell he was, and then I remembered he was stashed on the Mavs bench. I just remembered about him again when I saw this ESPN article. Now the guy playing over Brewer is Peja,a nd while I love his shooting, and he helped tremendously in the first two sieres, he is not knocking down shots right now. A thought occured to me two times during this sieres, the Heat are trying to get Peja to switch on to Lebron, and when he is guarding Lebron, its funny how everyone gets away and lets Lebron go into iso mode. You could see Stojakovich in his stance looking behind him at Cahndler nd Haywood with that "This guy is going to burn me, help!" face. Its like every middle school rec league. There is always one guy who cant guard anyone, and he just has that helpless look on his face, while the big guys in the paint, are thinking "If he keeps getting beat off the dribble like this, we are gonna get into foul trouble." Now I still think Stojakovich should play, he sould not be benched, but I think for some time, they should try something different, say Corey Brewer. Now the Mavs are an offensive team who like a slow half court tempo. Or at least that is what I thought. Although Their defense is not at Miami Heat level, it is definitly an improvment on their usual D. And I have also noticed they are looking to push the ball, which surprises, me, because I thought they were playing into Miami’s hands, but I realized that is their only hpe to win this sieres, because Miami’s halfcourt D is absolutely suffocating. Back to Brewer, he may be the answer to stoping D Wade. Jason Kidd is a great defender, but he has had his hands full with Wade. Marion has done an absolutlely amazing job on James, and if Brewer can play lock down D and give them just enough offense to survive, they may be able to grind out the wins they need to become the NBA champions. Now instaling Brewer into the lineup this late into the season could go down as a very gutsy call, but at this point, you are playing for all the marbles.

Chilbert arenasParticipantBrewer had some big plays for the Mavs during the Lakers series so it could pay off and Carlisle has seemed to lose faith in Peja anyway. I just wish Caron Butler was playing. He would have been guarding Wade making it much tougher on him and making Wade work on the other end of the floor. Instead Wade gets to relax because Stevenson is not much of a threat and Terry is overmatched.

NJHooper95ParticipantIts foolish not to play this guy. He can match the athleticism of Miami. Please Rick give the Kid a chance.

T-Wolvesfan13ParticipantAs a wolves fan i say this. THE GUY SUCKS! He takes bad shots and he is not that great of a defender. If you put him as a helpful piece you will only get a really crappy player lol

Michael.S.ParticipantThis is a total over-reaction. They can’t play him; you think Miami’s D is suffocating now? What happens when Dallas has 2 guys that can’t shoot out there on the wings in Marion and Brewer? Stop thinking Brewer is this secret weapon just waiting to be unleashed, he will guard Wade no better than Stevenson will, plus Stevenson gives more on the offensive end in terms of outside shooting and he has been shooting the ball well lately also. Nobody’s stopping Wade, or even slowing him down when he is in a zone, and he is in one.

JNixonParticipantCorey Brewer could look like a wing version of Ian Mahimi or however you spell his name if he was unchained to the bench and played cold turkey like that. Maybe next year or something, but it’s too late for that now.
