jaysmith1987ParticipantDoes anyone know who the starting pg for the mavericks will be next year? Are they going to let Roddy Buckets get a shot?

festar35ParticipantRamon Sessions is looking likely signing.

B-ball fanParticipantI hope Beaubois gets a chance at big minutes next year. He has all the tools to be a starting pg in the NBA, but he has yet to put it all together and become consistently productive at the NBA level.
I imagine the Mavs will be active in free agency. Aaron Brooks may be a good fit for them, as they could use a perimeter scorer and they don’t need an elite playmaker at pg to play effective offense.

Sewok15ParticipantI think that Beaubois is more of a point guard in a shooting guards body. He reminds me of Lou Williams who is another unsigned player that Dallas should look at. He led a playoff team in scoring which is more than you can say of any other players available.

Sewok15ParticipantYes I did thank you. I just reread it myself and I meant he is a shooting guard in a point guards body.

The Scare Crow RisesParticipantThey should look to sign Ray Felton or Ramon Sessions
Lou Williams, Jerryd Bayless and Aaron Brooks are too similar to Roddy Beubois, none of those guys is a pure playmaking Pg, Ramon Sessions might fall into that category too but he’s been a starting PG in the NBA so he’ll do for at least 2 seasons…
I’d lean towards signing Ray Felton, because of what he did in New York before he was traded to Denver, if you get that guy then you get a steal, but If I was Mark Cuban I’d probally pass on all the free agent Pg’s and try one of the following…
1) trade for a guy like Darren Collinson, he’s a young Pg that might be a great starter in Dallas if you can get him from Indiana(who just resign George Hill)
2) Take a Long look at Jose Calderon from Toronto with a Trade Exemption(Lamar Odom)…I think he’d be a great replacement to Jason Kidd as a pass first Pg next to Dirk
Lastly, Mark Cuban should sign unwanted Free Agents Chris Kaman and OJ Mayo to start at Sg and C
Mayo could be the Jason Terry replacement at Sg and Chris Kaman and Dirk get to play together in the NBA
Dallas could be back in the Hunt with a starting lineup of Calderon-Mayo-Marion-Dirk-Kaman…

iguapops420ParticipantWhat Felton did in NYK was really nice, but I’m sorry to say, that if Sessions had that opportunity to shoot 3’s in rythm and play 90% p&R with Amare Stoudamire and using the other 10% of the time to drive and dish to open shooters, 15,5,9 would be easily believeable. Dude is seriously underrated.

festar35ParticipantA German big-man tandem would be awesome of Kaman and Nowitzki.

Sewok15ParticipantKaman was born in Grand Rapids so even though he did play for the German National team he is still an American in my book. I also heard the Jazz may be looking into signing him. I would have to imagine that they will look to trade Jefferson if they are going to bring in another big with Favors and Kanter already on the bench.

kobyzParticipantthey could choose to select the idea of bringing back Devin Harris, Atlanta may be willing to salary dump him.
best years of Devin were in Dallas and he’s familiar with Dirk and the organisation, maybe it’s what he need to be back flourish.0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/09/2012 - 2:21pm #693902
BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantOn the plus side, Jason Kidd was terrible last year. Dallas didn’t regress defensively last year. Their offense wasn’t as good. They have trade exceptions with which they can get players without signing them as free agents. They have an $8.9 million exception from Odom, $4.2 million from Chandler, $3 million from Brewer, and $2.2 million from Fernandez. Where they are on July 9th really doesn’t matter. They have the assets to make themselves an interesting team by the time having a good roster matters.

festar35ParticipantI would welcome a trade of Collison to Dallas if, Stephenson proves he can be a good back-up to Hill.

GrandmamaParticipantRoddy Buckets definitely deserves a shot to run the show.
