I keep hearing that Mason Plumlee made three sky hooks yesterday. Yet, there’s no footage to be found. Hmm… Yahoo ran a whole story about it yesterday, but had no video. A big part of the cbssports.com recap focused on Plumlee’s sky hooks, but they weren’t included in the highlights. None of the three shots were anywhere to be found in the brief highlight I saw on espn.com. They’ve yet to surface on YouTube. I’m starting to think this is some vast conspiracy to boost ratings for the upcoming Duke game (as if that were necessary). But, in all seriousness, does anyone have a link to some video evidence? I’d love to see these Plumlee sky hooks for myself. Maybe I’ll just have to tune in to Duke’s match up against Creighton tomorrow.

They actually wrote an article about it…?

Wow. The writer must not have been watching Mason that much this year. He’s still incredibly inconsistent with them, and he only hit a couple yesterday because Albany had pretty short big men.

They by no means should be compared to Kareem’s sky hooks which were a thing of beauty. Mason’s “sky hook” is more of a right arm shiver a couple feet from the basket with no arc.

So, this much ballyhooed sky hook is nothing special? To be honest, I don’t really watch ACC basketball and haven’t seen a single Duke game all year, so I’m not sure what Mason Plumlee’s normal hook looks like but, I must say, if this shot doesn’t resemble Kareem’s sky hook, I’m very disappointed. But, nonetheless, apparently it was worth Yahoo writing an article about. See: http://sports.yahoo.com/news/ncaab–duke-s-mason-plumlee-trying-to-revive-an-old-relic-203856353.html. And, Albany’s head coach seemed to be in awe, saying: “Plumlee did the best Kareem Abdul Jabbar imitation I’ve seen in a long time…. he hit three sky hooks. I haven’t even seen somebody attempt that shot in my 12 years at Albany, and he hit three of them.” That’s the quote that got me interested. And now I’m disappointed.

Him vs. Payne ill be fun to watch.

Both guys look like mid first round picks that offer good size and solid value.

As a duke fan who’s watched every game this season, his running hook is a huge weapon. It doesn’t have the most arc, but it goes in at a very high rate. It’s also unblockable because he gets up so high. It’s definitely his most effective post move
