high floorParticipantI really, really like this guy’s game. I feel a full breakout is coming this season.
He has a year of familiarity with Hornacek’s offense, he’s the starting PF with his main competition for minutes (Channing Frye) now in Orlando, and the Suns should be one of the fastest paced teams in the league.
In only 27 minutes last year after the all star break, he averaged 16.1 points and 6.4 rebounds within a time-share. There’s upside and opportunity for him this year, and I’m glad that Phoenix was able to lock him an his bro up long term last week

prophetmeirParticipantIts crazy to see how being fast and undersized is the new thing. He can really stretch the floor and makes smart passes from the top of the key. He should also be playing some 5 this year too

Mr. HookShotParticipantHow is Markieff undersized? Considering his main position is PF he has solid height (6’10).

HitsterParticipantHe will almost play the role that Channing Frye filled for Phoenix last season. On a team like Phoenix without a legit go to star scorer they need more of there players to be complete players or at least above average in all facets of the game rather than specialising in just one part of it.
A team with star players can play a defensive specialist in the paint who will do the rebounding and not worry too much on shooting and offence. A player like Markieff may be less effective on a team like this or would be more a bench option.
Markieff could be a dark horse for MIP if he puts up the sort of stats he did post All Star break.
