This kid is nasty. Hes about 6’6, extremely athletic, has a nice looking jumper, and long. I think he has some serious potential. What do y’all think?

The only extensive action I’ve seen him in was at the U17s last yr. He looks taller than that 6’6 listing, closer to 6’8. Standing next to Jahlil Okafor for example, he didn’t look that much shorter. He’s a springy athlete in the open court and has a really nice frame. Plays a little too upright and doesn’t possess a tremendous first step, but he can use his handle to get his shot off. Could improve his first step if he gets lower on his dribble. He’s got a quick release off the bounce. Really nice looking stroke with deep range but he really needs to clean up his shot selection. He doesn’t have much of a floor game either. Maybe it was because of the quality of his teammates, but he rarely looked to make plays for others. He got his share of steals, but they were mostly off of gambles. Doesn’t look like an intense defender and doesn’t really sit in a stance. I think he has great potential as a shooter and shot maker though. Needs to improve his shot selection, floor game and intensity on defense.

Spanish League usually lists young players in barefoot height. So if he is listed at 6-6 it is barefoot height, and also this is a youth age measurement. By NBA way, he would be 6-7 at least.

I think he might end up top 5 in a loaded draft class next year. If he was coming out this year I’d say there would be a shot at him going 1st overall. I haven’t been following him in Euroleague play (not going to lie I don’t watch Euroleague except during the lockout last year) but in International competitions he has been impressive and scouting reports I’ve read on him are real positive. It would have good to have seen him at the Hoop Summit too bad he was injured.

He was not injured, Barcelona didn’t let him go. Played 2 games in ACB, was in rooster in Eurolegue and played 2 games for Barcelona B.

This is his last game Barcelona B to stay in Spanish 2nd division. Scored 2 points in first haf and 19 in 2nd, turnig game around

He does not play hardly ever in Euroleague or in Spanish League. He played just 19 minutes in Euroleague all year.

      http://www.euroleague.net/competition/players/showplayer?pcode=003108&clubcode=BAR&seasoncode=E2012

He plays in Barca’s second team, their developmental team, in the Spanish 2nd division.

He obviously has talent, but he’s not ready to play in a club like Barca, and not ready for Euroleague yet. He needs another year or two of time. But Barca is going amazing in how they developed Abrines so far, so Hezonja should be in great shape if he works hard with their developmental coaches.

The thing about Hezonja that is noticeable is that he has the physical level against men. When Barca played the Dallas Mavericks, even at age 17, Hezonja looked somehow not much different than the men on both teams playing in terms of his physicals.

But he needs time to refine his game, because he plays very loose basketball and not in a fundamental way yet. He needs a lot of time to refine his game and to get his basketball decision making better.

He is sort of opposite of Adetokoubo in development terms. Adetokoubo has decision making down for a kid already, but his body is still a kid body. Hezonja is the opposite, he has the physical development already, but he needs to mature in the mental part of the game.

Hezonja has got level to play in first team. The problem is the coach. Despite Juan Carlos Navarro is having problems with injuries, we’ve got Oleson, Rabaseda, Abrines and Ingles for SG position, and lots of times one of them doesnt play… The coach has not given minutes to any young player (Rabaseda, Todorovic, Abrines, Hezonja), but now some of them have got minutes… so dont care about his minutes in first team. Maybe he will have minutes in next matches, because BarçaB has finished his season.

I have watched sometimes BarçaB, and Hezonja has got something special… has to improve shoot selection, but he’s an amazing prospect… Similar talent to Juan Carlos Navarro with a great physique… Croatia’s national team is named to be TOP3 in Europe in a few years.
