I know there’s been a lot of forum threads about him already, but my man Hezonja just put up a career high 28 points with 8 triples, almost single-handedly getting Magic back in the game.

Anybody else still on his island? Feel like he’s been misused in Orlando, they keep burying their young players (Vic Oladipo, Hezonja, Harris). Really hope he can find himself a nice situation next summer when he’s an unrestricted free agent.

Miami could use him. He has the size for the 3 which my team sorely needs and he’s a shooter as well.

Good news for Mario is that the Magic have declined his team option, he can sign with any team this Summer on a short deal. If he proves he can be effective, he can get a good deal and can stick in the league.

I have more hope for Mario Hezonja than I do for Jahlil Okafor at this point. His game translates and he could shine in a different system.

Yeah, that shooting/athleticism/size combo is really rare to find. If you can’t make a player out of it, then you’re doing something wrong. Wouldn’t mind him under Pat Riley’s wing in Miami, believe he would resurrect his career a la Dion Waiters. Think he would thrive under the bright lights of LA too, plenty of shooting needed for Walton’s side.

I have prime beachfront real estate on Mario Island. Hoping it increases in value.

one of the underrated shooters I felt the Pelicans should try and go after. I don’t know what the asking price would be though.

I believe teams won’t trade for him right now, whoever trades for him can only offer him his (declined) team option of around 4-5 million. That’s kind of a loophole in the CBA, Nets similarly won’t be able to offer Okafor than his (declined) team option of 5-6 million, whereas other teams can offer more. Not sure anybody will, though. Same thing was with Tyler Ennis last year, nobody offered him more than his 2.6 million.

I thought this was a Chalmers thread (Batalli?).

Wondering if he can kill off BOTH Memphis basketball teams inside 10 years.

The Sixers were supposedly high on him in his draft year. Wouldn’t mind them signing him in the off-season. Maybe pairing him with a fellow Croatian (Saric) will help bring out the best in him. Also don’t the Hawks have a a Croatian assistant coach?

I’d take him on the Knicks for sure. I remember when there were rumors that the Knicks were going to take him over Porzingis. Thank god that didn’t happen, but I still like Super Mario’s game. On a short term prove it deal he’s a no brainer for basically every team.

    Watched the game.

I was thinking, he could still be a cheap, decent back up 8 pts ish a game for some teams.

    Teams ala spurs, thunder, mavs.

Bulls could easily take a flyer on him, team need, Porter drafted or not..

Sacto, their only SF is Justin Jackson and they’re a bad shooting team, Porter drafted or not. .

Lakers, Deng is done(stretched), Brewer expiring, worst 3pts shooting team in the league(32%) 27th in made…with the highest pace, it could translate to wins in due time.

Wolves, fewest treys per game, poor spacing, too many on ball players.

He had a great game yesterday and also had a 17 point game last week. He is back in rotation so the ball is in his court to put himself in the showroom window.

Given his size as an SG, a lot of teams would look at him. What his market value would be who knows?

But he is still only 22 so must have some upside and I could see a team in rebuild possibly giving him a deal as there would be less pressure on them if he didn’t come off. His age would fit nicely into any rebuild program but he’d also bring a bit of experience which always helps.

A contender may take a look at him if they thought he’d be an asset as he could cover a couple of positions from the bench.

The Spurs have often signed slightly unheralded guys and turned them into good NBA players. They have a long line of top European stars plus factor in Manu is 40 now, so that could be a nice landing place for him.

He’d be a good spot up shooter with Simmons and Embeast creating wide ope. Shots for Him, sadly I think we’re married to TLC and Korkmaz, two good Euro players with time to develop at the 2-3 spot…Still I wouldnt mind taking a chance on Mario Hezonja in the off season, he and Saric could be a stellar 2nd Unit offensive duo
