jcl249ParticipantI read somewhere that the Mavs had guaranteed him with their pick if he’s still available. He was also told to stop working out for teams. i think he’ll be drafted before #22 but that’s just my taught.

gatorheelsParticipantWhere did you read that? I don’t believe they guaranteed him anything.

jcl249ParticipantI read it on hoopsworld not a ral trustful source but I read it somewhere else before too. I hope its not true i really don’t like him with the 22nd pick. Ans yes im a huge Mavs fan. To me he’s another Jason Terry with out the superior Jumpshot.

gatorheelsParticipantThornton can score at will, his jumpshot is actually real good. I still can’t see the Mavs taking him at 22 though. I think Thornton will be a solid pro, it just seems there are other players that fit the Mavs needs better that will be available at #22.

jcl249ParticipantThat’s my same thinking there are other players we could use Budlinger, Teague, Williams, Mullens. So why would we take Thornton??? i don’t get it. If Donnie is the one that did this i am pissed at him he’s made some other pretty sorry moves but this one has to be up there.

NYKnicksuperFanParticipantdrafting thornton would take minutes from 6th man of the year Jason Terry, i think they should go with Gani Lawal, or if Budinger or Ellington fall grab them

jcl249ParticipantHow would it take minutes away he would play the role Wright does right now. We’d probably trade Wright this offseason if we draft a 2Guard.

JNixonParticipantHe is a good looking shooter and scorer. He shoots a high percentage and has plenty of offensive talent. He reminds me of Willie Green. But I dont think it would be right for the Mavs to go after him

glm51391ParticipantMarcus thornton can be the next ben gordon. They both have strong bodies and knock down jumpers. Thornton is a good defender and his ball handling skills are pretty good for the 2 spot. The only problem with him is that he stands at 6″3 or 6″4

Pistol Pete. The PelicanParticipantanyone read the article about him having a good workout for new orleans
they pick 21 right before the mavs, so if he has a guarantee, they better trade up or something if they want him that bad
