This dude is a beast and I know this is just high school but I got to say the high school class of 2016/ the NBA Draft class of 2017 is looking great with having Thon Maker, Josh Jackson, Harry Gills, Dennis Smith, Seventh Woods, Jayson Tatum, Kobi Simmons, and Malik Monk. I’m pretty sure I’m messing some players but this class is ridiculous.

Malik Monk is an athletic freak and I don’t know why people jump when he’s slashing through the lane. He just got an offer from UNC today and is really picking up offers. Such as Kentucky. What’s interesting is that I read that him and Archie Goodwin is close and will that make Kentucky the favorites. He have a rare combination of athleticism and skill that a few prospects have. He is a pretty short for an shooting guard standing 6’3.5" at the Nike Skills Academy this yeat. He’s only 16 so he have time to grow into his body. I wonder will he translate his game into being a point guard if he don’t reach ideal shooting guard height. I believe if he was in the 2015 high school class he would be number one and high school talent evaluators saying the same thing about this class that the top 5 players would be number 1 in the 2015 class. I also heard that he’s the best shooting guard prospect I in years.

Thoughts about this class and Malik Monk?

He can rise up for sure. Just wonder how hell do when he gets to college. Bright future but I’d like to see more of his jumper

Pretty insane shot at the end if that video. Monk definitely has athleticism, but he needs to either get better at passing and become a PG, or get a pure jump shot to play SG. Luckily the NBA is becoming a more small league, which is allowing combo guards and more less positionless players succeed in the NBA. He also looks like a lanky 6’4 with some long arms to make up for his hieght.

My first impression was..thank god he is only 6’3.

Is it because its a highlight video or he is generally just that explosive?

Malik could end up around being around 6’6", like his brother Marcus Monk.  Not sure where he ends up college wise.  Some think its between Arkansas and Kentucky.   His brother Marcus was a great receiver at Arkansas and his cousin Ky Madden has had a pretty good 3 yrs as a Hog.  Of course being a Hog fan I hope Malik stays instate.
