Luke Hancock

As a George Mason alum, I wish Luke hadn't transferred, but I'm proud of all the shine he's getting right now. He's earned it.

I've been high on him since he was a sophomore at Mason. My question to you guys is do you think he's draftable? He was average during the regular season for Louisville, but played a huge role for them in the tournament.

Here's what I think of Hancock:

Pros: Extremely mature; high basketball IQ; above average shooter; good handle and court vision for a guy his size; can play either the two or the three on the next level

Cons: Not very athletic; below average defensively; is already 23

I think he'll probably end up in Europe or NBDL, but I'd love to see a team take a chance on him in the late 50's. What do y'all think?

I think he is worth a look.

I think he is worth a look. Two 20 point games in the final four. I think he can play.
The Griz could use a shooter like him, or pretty much any team for that matter.

And I loved that alley- oop pass to Siva.

No, he's not draftable, when

No, he's not draftable, when guys like Jon Diebler prove it over an entire career and don't get drafted what makes you think a guy who has had a two game stretch is? Great story, but it's over, sorry.

I dont think he is draftable

I dont think he is draftable but I do think he will get his opportunity to play in the NBA and maybe even make a roster. The fact that he had a 2 game run doesnt make him draftable but it does shine light on him and his skillset. Just because a player is a reserve doesnt disqualify him from the league because it depends on why he was a reserve. Was he playing behind better talent or did he just suck? Shooters can find their way into the league, they just have to be in the right place at the right time and be ready.

He's got a shot

JJ Redick got drafted. Wayne Ellington got drafted. Kyle Korver got drafted. Xavier Henry got drafted. Steve Kerr got drafted. All shooters, all with little to no defensive game coming out of college. Hancock could go to the combine, shoot the lights out, and end up a mid 2nd round pick and be a spot up gunner and backup playmaker. He's got a decent chance.

Also just remembered....

So being 23, I figured Luke was a senior by now. I totally forgot he had to sit out his first transfer year, so technically he's a junior. Still has one more year of eligibility to raise his stock.

Whoa timinator

Don't to dare put Hancock and JJ reduce in the same category! JJ redick was a 28ppg scorer and was the person the opposing team was trying to stop night on and night out and he still got the job done. We're talking about a player of the year vs a role player on a Louisville team. Slow your roll playa
