Which team would you like to see buck the odds and win the lottery.

Since we dont have a crystal ball to know win/loss records…try to focus on teams you think will rank somewhere between 17th and 25th….since they’ll have odds ranging from 1 to 10 percent.

Teams with assured bad records…eg Lakers and Philly are excluded because their odds are certainly going to be high…and thus would be only mildly lucky if they won.

You’re asking me to not pick my favorite team in a year where they HAVE to be extremely lucky to land a top 3 pick to prevent it from going to Philly.

So yeah, definitely would love to see the Lakers as the lucky lottery winner.  They could really use a Ben Simmons.

Lakers are ranked #30 in my power rankings, and I would have ranked them lower if I could.

Someone better than me in probabilities can tell you that if they achieve this goal…which they will, then statistically speaking they would actually have to be seriously unlucky not to get a top 3 pick.

Im not sure a team has ever had a bigger incentive to lose.

Theres also the fact that Mr Silver knows a little about dollars and cents. He could majorly rig the lottery to ensure Lakers are looked after.

No way he wants Philly to get that pick. 29 owners in the league are pissed at Philly cos they bring in no revenue and swindle GMs with hustle deals.

I expect the Lakers to be the 5th to 8th worst team. They’d be lucky to get #3.

I got them as the 4th worst team. Too many "I need the ball in my hands" players with Bryant, Russell, Clarkson, Williams and Young.

Anyways, I think if they do get the first pick, they should try to get Skal Labissiere instead of Ben Simmons. They need a defensive anchor that can attract free agents for the future and he’s a flex big too. Balances out the team.

Anything in the top 3 would be great for them. Ben Simmons, Jaylen Brown, Brandon Ingram, maybe Skai. They might be able to grab Hibbert on the cheap next year.

Yeah, I know. It’s why next year’s draft is really important for their future. Both Ben and Jaylen can work too but the best fit would be Skal since Ben would kind of eat up Julius Randle’s space on the floor.

What about Roy Hibbert? I hear he really attracts free agents with his softness.

Lakers need to be in the top 3 post lottery to keep their pick. A team which has had a number of top 10 picks in the last few years but have never had any luck moving up in the lottery is Detroit. They will be without Monroe this year so I don’t see them improving that much even if Andre Drummond has a major year.

As a traditional big team and without success for a number of years, as a neutral I’d be quite happy to see them get a top 3 pick next year and add a top young player to compliment Andre, Reggie Jackson and co.

As a Boston fan I’m hoping that one of either the Dallas or the Brooklyn picks hits the jackpot for us. By hitting the jackpot I mean 7-10. If we landed a pick higher than that I might cry on the draft lottery night.

I’d like to see Charlotte get it. They got royally screwed in 2012 with the worst record in league history and lost the lottery to NO who got Anthony Davis…a complete game changer. In turn, they got MKG, which is a nice piece to have but a huge difference in number 1 and 2.

If they were to get it, I’d definitely go Ben Simmons, even though Charlotte has drafted a PF every year since the Cubs last won the World Series. He seems to be a can’t miss prospect.

Also, they are getting $40 mil off the books after this year. I would offer Big Al another contract merely out of respect, but at a discount since he’s guaranteed to miss 25-30 games a year. Maybe 2-3 years for 8-10 mil. Salary cap skyrocketing so it wouldn’t be a horrible deal for a good locker room presence that could help on the bench. Everybody else, I’d probably let go. Maybe keep Batum depending how he plays and what sort of contract he wants.

Then, I mean you would have to at least offer Kevin Durant a Max and try. I see no chance in hell, but I’ll personally kick Jordan in the shin if he doesn’t at least give his agent a call. But I’d give Brandon Jennings a call. Was playing great last year until he got hurt. Could be great sixth man, small ball with Kemba, or take over his job and trade Kemba if he doesn’t improve this year in that horrible shooting percentages. . I’d then try to snag Whiteside and Gerald Green from the Hear somehow. Maybe go after Tony Wroten, who I think is hugely underrated. I mean…cmon your Michael Jordan. I know Charlotte isn’t necessarily a destination players want to go…but your the Goat…you gotta do better than Nic Batum and Jeremy Lamb next offseason.

Really want them to tank this season and draft Ben Simmons, It’l give them yet another unselfish player who can also score………him and russell are also already use to playing with one another.

In this scenerio I would also hope that since we’d be tanking it’ll give a chance for Jabari Brown and Frazier to prove their worth hopefully enough scoring from either of the 2 to make Lou Williams expendable.

Then I would try and trade lou for a team that has centers to spare……..I think Kings might be a good option…pair Lou Williams and Ryan kelly for WCS (george karl is known for not playing rooks plus with cousins and koufus there, doubt he’ll grab many minutes)…….Lakers however can use him to be their defensive anchor and give them a young core to grow with…..king get ryan kelly who might actually fit well next to cousins as a stretch four but win big by getting bench scoring with lou williams……he’ll fit the role isiah thomas left behind as a 6th man, except this time kings have actual starting worthy guard  in Rondo.

If you want the Lakers to tank (smart move)…Id be giving Ryan Kelly all the minutes they can handle.

NBA would love Mr Versatility in Lakerland

If we were tanking, I’d still want are young guys to get minutes…think clarkson last season……he was getting valuable minutes bur we still were coming up short cause we didn’t have the vet capable of leading the way.

Hopefully once we are tanking, it’l be something like this.

        Russell- J.brown

        Clarkson-Frazier

        Ryan kelly- A. Brown

        Randle- Nance

        Sacre- Black

Starting line up would get less rebounds thanks to sacre, and defense wont be that good since it’l be a young squad and ryan kelly cant guard a 3…..The bench will actually be good however if we play kelly and sacre 25+ minutes a game doubt they’ll go far…………….but again, something bad needs to happen in order for us to start tanking…hate to say it but we may need another injury from kobe or young to get us to tank….if not than a combination williams and hibbert….best case/worst case scenerio is if kobe, williams and hibbert get hurt…… no vet leadership, huge loss in bench scoring, and our defensive anchor goes out….plus in this deep west, doubt we’d make the playoffs…………………Hopefully wolves, 76ers and even the knicks do better this season. Ben simmons would be sick with us.
