Lou Williams Out For The Rest of Season
Danny Ferry had a vision of clearing cap space and getting good draft picks. But then, the Hawks wanted to play with "heart" and foiled his big plan. I think they move Smith asap and the free-fall begins. Unless of course, Smith tells them "ya, Dwight and Chris are signing here"
Yea I saw the game vs the Nets and when he went down, I knew it wasn't good. He fell on his knee hard. Now the Hawks lose their best perimeter scorer and weapon off the bench. Downhill from here.
I think the hawks should flip smith for young players and picks, all signs point to him being one foot out of the door. I really think josh might sign with Houston in the offseason and try to entice Dwight, as James Harden said a few weeks ago that he is recruiting star players
Damn... I hate hearing about someone tearing their ACL.
Good thing is he tore it in his right knee, which isn't the strong knee he jumps with. As long as he attacks his rehab, he should be able to return close to the start of next season.
Remember Lin and Asik are both at 5 mill next year. Houston will have space to sign a max player. One of them, Smith or Howard, will have to be acquired via sign-n-trade. Or another way is to trade for Smith now, then when his contract expires, sign Howard outright, and then resign Smith, which they will be able to do. For example, if they trade Asik and a couple of their young PF prospects to Atl for Smith. Then in off season, when SMith contract expires, Houston will have over 25mill in cap space. Sign Howard, then resign SMith.
Yes, they may have to let Parsons and smith walk, they can sign josh smith but may have to do a sign and trade for Dwight to unload Asik and some other rookie deals. Lin doesn't get paid huge until his 3rd year; Houston is a huge market so luxury tax wouldn't kill them.
I love Lou hes a winner and for the past few years has been one of NBAs 4th quarter scoring leaders and is clutch. Hes a very underrrated player and the Hawks wont be able to replace his playmaking.

Atlanta hawks guard Lou Williams will miss the rest of the season after it was shortly reported that he has torn a ligament in his knee last night, and will need surgery to repair it, he was the hawks third leading scorer. Are the wheels slowly falling off for Atlanta? http://www.beyondthebuzzer.com/2013/01/19/lou-williams-out-for-season-wi...
