OhCanada-Participant“In the early hours of July 19, a Germantown dispatcher received a 911 call from Lorenzen Wright’s cell phone.
The dispatcher heard a garbled male voice utter an expletive, then at least 10 gunshots.
“Hello? Hello? Can you hear me?” the dispatcher asked.
Then the phone went dead.
The dispatcher called back. No one answered.
Nine days later, Wright’s body was found in a wooded area of southeast Memphis, two law enforcement sources confirmed Wednesday afternoon.”
Growing up I admired Wright for his hardwork being a smaller C and it is unbelievable to see such a player I admired die coldblooded like this. To hear news like this makes me absoloutly sick to my stomach. The Memphis police better get to the bottom of this, and the NBA should take some responsibillity in helping put to rest one of their own the right wsay and helping fund an all out search. Wright was a hard working basketball player, a great team-mate and I’m sure an even better man.
R.I.P. Lorenzo Wright
Your family misses you, and so do your fans.

Briguy330ParticipantOh god….. this is terrible. Was a good NBA player and I would never wish this on anyone. Thoughts and prayers go out to anyone affected by this.

FDAPOThis seems almost like a made up story…
expletive then 10 gun shots??? I thought it was a suicide….
Lol at the operator saying “Hello? Can you hear me?” then the phone dying….. Sounds made up

MuggsyParticipantLast I heard it was a self-inflicted gunshot. It’s still under investigation though. Either way it’s a horrible tragedy, my best wishes to his family.

OhCanada-ParticipantYou guys really think you can just shoot at yourself 10 times…come on. Have any of you been stabbed or shot before. I mean really come on to shoot yourself 6 times without completly losing control of your body. not easy. I doubt that happened.
If he were to kill himself wouldnt he just shoot himself once in the head..

OhCanada-ParticipantIf you were killed, shot to death, and left for dead would you want the world to just think that you killed yourself? I definitely wouldnt want to be viewed as a suicide case if I was just muredered. If people accept the garbage “self inflicted wounds” rumour the killer/s get away with the crimes they committed and Lorenzo Wright will never be able to R.I.P.

SwatLakeCityParticipantLoved the player. Did his best, and really played the game I love the way it should be played. Such a tragedy to see him go. But of course every story has its ending no matter how good or bad it was. Unfortunately this is such a bad ending for any story to end. Hopefully other players in the league will learn from the story of Lorenzen Wright, and all the teams he played for will retire his jersey as a remembrance(except for the Cavs, cuz he barely played for them) RIP Lorenzan Wright. You will be remembered from all of the NBA as well as your family.

TRC1991ParticipantI always loved his name…he was a good dude and its tough for his kids growing up without a dad and his parents losing a child is unbelievably tough i’m assuming
