Looks like the Mavs found their pg.
What do you guys think of this deal?
Huh. The Pacers must really like Mahinmi, because Collison was a really good option at pg, considering he is very cheap (under contract for two more years at under 3 mil per year on average). I know the Pacers have plenty of backcourt depth but lack great backups in the frontcourt, but I would rather have Collison and Jones than Mahinmi.
I guess the Pacers value Mahimi more than I do. It is important that they have a good backup center, as Hibbert is not a big minute guy.
The Dallas Mavericks count themselves lucky to have added Mayo for this 2012-13 NBA season, and Mayo is confident that the new-look Mavericks can go far, even further, perhaps, than the super-hyped Los Angeles Lakers.241412
Meanwhile, the Thunder didn’t do much beyond drafting intriguing big man Perry Jones in the first round of the draft and signing free agent center Hasheem Thabeet in free agency.htt4343
Houston’s then-coach Rick Adelman saw nothing in Thabeet that made him want to play him, so he appeared in just two games for the rest of the season and didn’t score a basket. Rockets management hoped that incoming head coach Kevin McHale could reach Thabeet the following season, but even he could only coax 1.2 points and 1.4 rebounds out of the Tanzania product. 421241214
He appeared in just five games for Houston last season before the Rockets sent him to Portland, where the Blazers gave him more minutes and a real shot to be a rotation player, but were so disappointed in what they saw that they didn’t so much as make him an offer during free agency.21312
That commotion compelled Heat guard Dwyane Wade to get on the public-address system at halftime. He addressed the 11,221 fans in attendance at the team's annual free scrimmage.
"We got enough Ray Allen Heat jerseys," James said. "They don't need to wear a Celtics Ray Allen jersey. But if it's a Ray Allen jersey, I don't mind."caf32
Allen shot 5-of-11, including 3-of-7 from three point range, for 13 points. He didn't look like a 37-year-old guy out there.bnhhrt4343
Allen didn't look like a guy who had offseason ankle surgery. He said he's feeling as good as he has since he lit up the Heat for 28 points for Boston last December at Miami.bbbbbbbbbb
Among the other top marksman, Shane Battier shot 4-of-7 and Mike Miller 3-of-8. Even center Chris Bosh was 2-of-3 en route to a scrimmage-high 19 points.vag32235yh3
"It's almost like how Orlando was with Dwight (Howard), you just surround him with so many shooters, you don't know what to do," said James, who 15 points in the scrimmage while looking mostly to get others involved. "It's going to be a good problem with us."vat352352323
The Chicago Bulls want to extend fourth-year power forward Taj Gibson. By letting Omer Asik sign with the Houston Rockets this past summer, they all but indicated that when given the choice between one or the other, Gibson was the one they’d rather hold onto.vaf3233223323
And as far as playing basketball is concerned, Gibson has been pretty solid his first three seasons. Granted, it’s been hard to get a great read on how productive he could really be since he’s spent almost his entire career as Carlos Boozer’s backup, but he’s talented enough on both ends of the floor to be a starting NBA power forward for a lot of teams in this league. hsaf332
If or when Chicago uses its amnesty provision on Boozer, Gibson would be an ideal candidate to start for the Bulls, and for quite a bit less money than Boozer is currently making.hg3434
To do that, though, he’ll have to continue to get better, and recently-extended Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau spent plenty of time this offseason making sure that happened.ert23432
“As soon as the season was over, [Thibodeau] just had me in here with him, and we just worked out almost every day, just trying to get ready for the USA,” Gibson said of his preparation for the 2012 USA Men’s Select Team. “I wanted to make a good impression for the USA camp, and he came down and watched every practice. I did a good job, got good feedback, and I feel positive about it.liuoui
“After that, I just kept playing basketball and didn’t really stop playing,” Gibson continued. “I just kept playing in local tournaments. Like Thib told me, ‘Just keep playing. Don’t worry about it; just find a way to keep playing.’ And it’s been great.”hfgjhfsfsada
It would be even greater to get his extension taken care of, but that’s something he’s going to have to wait at least a little bit longer for. Gibson is unquestionably an important part of this team’s future, and the Bulls are hoping they can hold onto him for a reasonable amount of money.
So while Gibson looks to improve and play a bigger role as Chicago’s unquestioned sixth man this year, he’ll do so either as an imminent restricted free agent or as a re-upped veteran who will have the benefit of knowing his future with the organization.jkgj
According to recent research, it is estimated that approximately 40 million American adults suffer from some form of anxiety disorder. That’s nearly 18 percent of the population over the age of 18. I assume that number is higher than most of us would have suspected; and I also assume the reason we underestimate the number of those afflicted is partly because so many of us that suffer from anxiety do so quietly and privately.faf332
As someone who has dealt with anxiety and panic attacks for most of my adult life, I speak from experience. In fact, I have close friends who will learn of my anxiety for the first time only if they happen to stumble across this paragraph.sdf322323
I certainly won’t attempt to speak for everyone battling the disease, but I will freely admit that one reason I rarely share my experiences with others is due to a certain level of shame/embarrassment that accompanies openly admitting that I occasionally become exceedingly anxious at the mere thought of seemingly mundane tasks that wouldn’t phase my wife or my five-year-old niece.gdfg2323

Unsurprisingly, many doctors who have studied anxiety estimate that the number of undiagnosed anxiety sufferers are significant, especially among males. Studies show that some of these undiagnosed individuals often turn to alcohol or other drugs in order to self-medicate and dull the symptoms. Sadly, today’s society often promotes a form of masculinity where “being afraid” is tantamount to being “weak,” or worse, in the opinion of some.ghdfda
For those not familiar with his background, White suffers from severe anxiety disorder. White, to his credit, has been extremely forthcoming about his illness (he even allowed a fascinating inside look into the gift and the curse that was the day he got drafted in to the NBA), which has obviously impacted all facets of his life, including traveling to and from games by plane while at Iowa State. hdfgrt3432
Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey, the man who made the final decision to draft White, was fully aware of the unique issues and potential problems the Rockets would face when they selected White with the 16th overall pick in June. Houston was getting one of the most talented and versatile young players on the planet (Royce, as a freshman, led his college team in points, assists, rebounds, blocks and steals), but they were also getting a young man that would have to deal with a unique set of challenges throughout is career.yhert342
Dwight Howard seems to be soaking up all the game Kobe is dishing. If he can apply them to his game and not take offense to the criticism, the Lakers will be in good shape for years to come.
"He's a finisher," Frank said. "We have a guy who can dunk. That's an added bonus. We're able to throw it up and he can go get it.
Kobe Bryant recently mentioned that his next two seasons may be his last. During that same interview, Kobe offered a light critic of Dwight Howard’s personality and style of play:hfdg34
Six quarters into preseason action, Bucks forward Ersan Ilyasova hadn't shown much. He'd taken just four shots and made two of them in the team's opener against the Cavaliers, and in the first half of last Saturday's matchup with the Pistons, Ilyasova had made four free throws and done little else on the offensive end. It wasn't a bad start, by any means — just a quiet one.
