Shaun Livingston has signed with the Bobacats..

Does anyone think he has a chance to take that starting spot??

They could have a long backcourt of he does..

    PG: Livingston
    SG: Jackson
    SF: Wallace
    PF: Thomas
    C: Diop??

IDK who starts at the C position between Damp, whom i think they will use to trade for something, or Diop…

Either way, that is a defensive minded squad right there.. Damn.. Thats Larry Brown for ya…

That is a tough, gritty, and long team. They could challenge for a playoff spot for sure. And to answer the question; the way Livingston played last year I think it’s safe to say he could be a starter in this league. He is finally back, not completely(which he will never be), but he is back. Last year he provided great minutes for the Wizards. His shot improved alot, he was a great playmaker, and he played like a guy trying out for a roster spot, he also showed some explosiveness with a couple of nice dunks.

Without a doubt could work himself into the starting lineup, like Mikenike/Jammin Lemon said he isn’t fully himself because he will never be that same player but he can become a solid starter and has worked himself into great shape and can make an impact next year with the Bobcats, they will probably make the playoffs due to their great coach and team chemistry, they are not stacked or have any stars just quality players like Stephen Jackson and Gerald Wallace who are the leaders and then solid guys alongside of them, they all play tough and while I do not expect anything terrific out of them this upcoming season I do expect them to do fairly well.

They’re aren’t going to make the playoffs. I actually think he’ll be a pretty bad team.

Yeah, they have length and are athletic, so they’ll be able to switch everything on D. But I think they will struggle to score without a true starting PG, and they aren’t going to sneak up on many teams next year. I see their team as similar to the one Philly had last year, and I see them having the same kind of success (or lack thereof).

All Livingston needs to do is make his jumpshot more consistent, which he showed progess with last year, and he’ll be a true starting PG in the NBA. He still has the vision, playmaking, and ability to make his teammates better. For all we know, he might end up being an upgrade over Felton.

They never were a scoring team anyway though so it won’t make that much of a difference, their hard defense and team play is what allowed them to make the Playoffs, the Eastern Conference is better this year but not enough to where the Bobcats can’t get a 7th or 8th seed.

It would be nice to see him start and succeed. We will just have to see though.

i don’t think they will be as good as last year. Like JNixon-Iggy said, they won’t be very good offensively, and they probably will be worse defensively. Dampier is a step down from Chandler. The rest of the east improved, but they took a small step back. They are in better position for the future because of the trades, though. They could start to get younger, and get some potential to do more than compete for a bottom seed in the east.

I love how smooth he is.. IMO, the best part about his game is that it is built to only get better.. I mean he is 24, the age of a couple rookies and he has been through things that most peoples nightmares dont compare to.. He is a humble kid..

Going back to what I said about his game being built to only get better..

He doenst rely on his athletic ability so much that it dominates his game.. Look at the PGs in the league that get better with age.. JKidd, Nash, Billups.. Those 3 guys keep getting better or at least dont get worse every year.. They have a great feel for the game, which Livingston has.. They are very heady players that use their bodies to their advantage instead of to their disadvantage.. Livingston is always looking for the open player and really capitalizes on his post game. He isnt blinding quick or a superior jumper.. He doesnt blow by guys or have an amazing crossover BUT, he still has alot of room to grow with his game.. I think he could excel as a defender under Larry Brown.. Forget about him fearing guys like Paul who can blow by him, he can simply reach over them to block shots when they do.. Dont look for Chauncy to post him up like he does other guards..

Also, did anyone else hear that Larry Brown has challenged Stephen Jackson to average a triple-double next season?? Anyone think that this is feasible??

I also think the Bobcats will miss the playoffs. They lost their center and their PG. I like Livingston, but you never know how this will work out. OKC waived him a season ago, he’s always troubled with injuries.

I think the Cats will drop, because not only their team got a little bit worse, but other teams in the East improved and will attack a playoff spot (Knicks, Pistons, Sixers, Bulls). They will drop.

if captain jack avg a triple double its safe to say david stern would have to put “malice at da palace” jackson in the all star game. although it would still be long overdue.

They really didnt lose anything in chandler because he never gave them anything. I think livingston will start and average 11-5-7 and play good defense and lead them to the playoffs and he can even play with dj because he is so big and let dj score which he is better at than passing

I always liked Livingston and I’m sure he still can become a special player in his own right.
He just has to keep on adding things to his game, like probably a reliable jumpshot and more of a defensive mindset.

My biggest question about him is:

Will he be able to provide some much needed scoring for the Bobcats?

Ive always rooted for Livingston, he was suppose to be the next Penny Hardaway. I think he has a shot at starting for the Bobcats, specially that Felton is gone. It all depends on how much DJ Augustin improves, I also like him as well, he kinda reminds me of Jameer Nelson.
