NJHooper95ParticipantGood team and a lot of shooters. Cavs could have won this game if they did not give up 35 second chance points. Only if the could as secured some rebounds, you can’t get Portland second chances because they make you pay with 3 ball and then they have a great big in LaMarcus Aldridge. Very dangerous squad.

Sewok15ParticipantThe Blazers are playing much better than everybody thought but I expected them to be a playoff team this year. Lillard is even more confident in his 2nd season and they added some key players. The first being Robin Lopez….one of the Blazers weaknesses last season was interior defense. For as great as Aldridge is that isn’t really one of his strengths.
They added some nice depth off the bench as well which they didn’t have last year. Mo Williams is a great veteran 6th man combo guard who can help teach Lillard and eventually McCollum when he returns. Thomas Robinson has been a good addition as well and although none of these guys are putting up great numbers they are much improved as a unit. All the Blazers starters play over 30 minutes a game but every one of them besides Lopez is playing less minutes than they did last year. Not only are they playing less minutes but Matthews, Lillard and Aldridge all increased their scoring average from last season.
The bottom line is they don’t have to play as much or do quite as much which has made them more efficient…add that to the improvement of the players themselves and team chemistry and you have yourself a legit title contender.

r377ParticipantI like Robin Lopez for what he is. He isn’t blessed with great skill or athleticism, but he works hard and makes the most of what he was born with…..
T-Rob looks to be a good addtition aswell. Sometimes players with a good attitude and work ethic can get you more wins without putting up great stats

Sewok15ParticipantI completely agree. Robin is nowhere as near as good as Brook offensively but when it comes to defense and rebounding he might be better.
I also wanted to mention Dorell Wright he is a guy that can play the 3 and a little bit of 4 with nice ballhandling and shooting ability for a player that is 6’9. He hasn’t scored a ton this year but he is shooting 39% from 3. He is a player I didn’t really know much about until last year when he joined the Sixers. He was a pleasant surprise and even though he was inconsistent you could see his talent.
If the Blazers do get hit with an injury to a starter they are much better equipped to deal with it this season.

mattystarsParticipantI do worry when it comes to playoff time IF the shots stop falling, but its great to see my Blazers play this well as a team and not just induviduals although LaMarcus is looking like he’ll easily secure Western Conference player of the Month for Dec

Sewok15ParticipantJust saw the last player to hit back to back go ahead field goals with 2 seconds or less in the 4th quarter or overtime was James Posey in 2009. Before that Mike Bibby did it in 2005 and then it goes all the way back to Jamal Mashburn.

Lafferty DanielParticipantHow is Steve Nash ahead of Dame Lillard in the All-Star voting? I hate the NBA sometimes.

Taylor Gang MikeParticipantit sucks, but Lillard won’t make the ASG.. Coaches will vote Parker, Curry, Westbrook and harden after Kobe and Paul get starters votes.. its only 6 guards

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantI think Lillard will make it.
Paul
Bryant
Durant
Griffin
HowardLove
Aldridge
Curry
Westbrook
Parker
Harden
LillardI mean, that’s a ton of PGs but there aren’t many players outplaying those guys while winning.

anthony_DavIS23ParticipantThe cavs commentators are so annoying, Austin Carr especially, I’m pretty sure I heard him say "we’re witnessing a superstar being born tonight" 13 times. Anyway on Lillard he is flat out amazing, his resent play Raises the question of the best player in the 2012 class

Jester87ParticipantIf he can work on his finishing ability he’s a future 1st team all Nba caliber point guard, imho. I would have never thought that when he was in college.

joecheck88ParticipantLillard is great! I love him as a player but I kind of think he is who he is and I’m not sure how much better he will get. I mean he is already great so if he doesn’t improve at all he is a very good starting PG. Of course he will get smarter with more and more games but he just is already so skilled. His assists will likely pick up at some point. He could score 25 a game if he wanted but he’s smarter than that. Just saying I don’t see his numbers improving much as a pro. Like I said he is great and will become better as a Player just maybe not statistically.
