I'll list my five
Could you half wits at least give explanations why? Anthony Bennett? Makes no sense at all...he might be the most NBA ready of anyone in the draft and hes one of the freaking youngest!
I wouldn't personally pencil him in as a bust but I can completely understand why someone wouldn't like him as a prospect. I do however think that his bust potential increases the higher he's taken. He's a short 4 who thinks he should be a SF. He doesn't like to work out of the post, likes to rely on his jump shot despite his natural physical strength, doesn't do the little things that big men do (like set good screens, box out, seal help defenders, etc), shows poor awareness on both ends of the floor, has lazy tendencies, has asthma, is terrible defensively, he shrunk in adverse situations during conference play, doesn't have much of a floor game at all, injury history, has the type of frame that can put on bad weight if he doesn't stay on top of his conditioning.
Bennett: yes hes strong and overpowered college players, but hes 6'8 and has the body of a power foward, not sf, and I haven't been overly impressed with his post moves.
Muhammad: People overhyped his athleticism and hes good not great shooter. He is a bit of a ball hog and not a good defender
Zeller: Not strong or super athletic. He can run the floor well and finish, but not a great jump shot and I didn't see the post skills I saw in Tyler.
Olynyk: Not a great athlete and not strong. Good shooter and height but also can be passive and couldn't lead Gonzaga past the 2nd round and almost lost to Southern.
MCW: I don't think he'll be a huge bust but he is not a good shooter, I think he'll have trouble creating his shot in the NBA, and we don't know all about his defense cause he played in a zone.
Can there really be that many "busts" in a draft as weak as this where there's nobody really sure to be great anyway?
Myck Kabongo, PG Texas
Anthony Bennett F, UNLV
Shabazz Muhammad G UCLA
Adonis Thomas F Memphis
CJ Leslie F NC State
on the fence right now?
Isaiah Austin F Baylor
Kabongo, Thomas, Leslie are NBDL players (which is okay)
Bennett and Muhammad will get there chances, but won't do anything with it.
And I can block out Austin.
I think Kabongo could end up being one of the steals of the draft. He is lightning quick and has apparently worked on his shot. I would take Kabongo over MCW all day.
Late firsts or 2nd round picks shouldn't be associated with the term "bust.". The risk and investment in those players are negligible. If they don't pan out, so what?
Shabazz- Overhyped athleticsism, overrated shooter, ball-hog, little ballhandling skills.
Anthony Bennett- See post number 4.
Cody Zeller- Not strong, weak frame.
Rudy Gobert- VERY light for a center, not athletic
Anthony Bennett is Roy, looking for a 16.1 / 7.8 / 2.1 / 1.2 / 1.2
Wow, every person whose listed any player as a potential bust gets immediately negged. lol C'mon guys; every draft will have its busts.
With that said, I think all big men this year in the lottery (Zeller, Okynyk and Len) not named Nerlens Noel will be busts. Reason being no big man in the lottery besides Noel, ceiling aside, has a decent floor.
I think you have it backward. Noel's floor, despite his clear upside, is somewhere between the D-League and Greece. A guy currently rehabbing a huge knee injury is the definition of having no floor. He could theoretically never play again.(not likely, but were talking about what COULD happen) meanwhile Olynk and Zeller have enough size and skill to stick with rosters for a decade, even if neither will ever be a game changer or even a starter. "back up 7 footer with a good feel for the game and polished post moves" is a pretty decent floor if you ask me. alot better than "freak athlete with a busted knee whose completely raw offensively". Make no mistake, taking Noel first overall is a bet that he can leverage his athleticism and length into developing into a better player than he is now.
1. Nerlens Noel
2. Ben Mclemore
3. Trey Burke
Its not that I dont like these guys BUT they will all struggle to live up to the expectations placed upon them
Nerlens Noel, and if Marcus Smart didnt go back to school I would say him too. Let the hating begin.
i definitely agree on noel. he has bust written all over him
