Legenday career aside....
Shaq needs to be removed from Inside The NBA.
He just seems to try too hard.
...is the worst member of the crew since Magic Johnson.
They need to bring in C-Webb full time.
I know. He probably does. But, it could be worse. Kenny Smith's daughter could be singing on every episode.
Shaq is an attention-whore. But give him time to let him establish himself as an analyst, for this is a new venture for in his career. And what could be worst is that he does renditions of "Steel" every episode. YIKES!
^^LMAO @Mikey V...
I thought Webb was horrible when he started, and he still sucks at calling games.
After about a season he is tolerable and funny sometimes now. 1000x better than Doris Burke... but he shouldn't ever sit with Marv of Fratello, they make him look stupid. He does well analyzing games/highlights on NBAtv which is the easiest position to start with, so Shaq should start there. He just needs to develop confidence, bcuz he brings invaluable insight having played with the leagues best players, he's been the leagues best player and he's played for most top teams in the past decade. I love when he gives us little stuff about LBJ/KB/Dwade, those tidbits are priceless
Doris Burks is very insightful when she's calling games..But it took my awhile to notice it,becuz i wasnt use to hearing a lady calling nba games...Hubie Brown is the best..
Hubie will break down a play, give history on it, and illustrate every nuance of a game!
All starting by saying one, "Now". Lol
Hubie annoys me at times. He mostly gives you statistics other than the coverage of the game at hand.
"Dwight Howard is going to give you 20 points, 15 rebounds a game,......Now...."
yeah they need to bring back c webb, shaq just funny and dumb. c webb actually knows the game and has better analsys
haha ya i used to enjoy hubie brown quite a bit but lately ive been watching games and doing nothing but listening to what he has to say. I have to tell you theres a lot of nothing, he rambles on and on without saying much most plays. It just seems like he has way to much going on in his head and he has to get it all out for every pay. The definition of over-analyzing
jeff van gundy is the man
Yea Shaq threw me off when he said he'll sit on the set in his underwear..that was a bit much and looked like it disturbed Ernie lol
Bring CWebb back or steal Jalen Rose
is the funniest dude on televison. Other than Jon Stewart, of course.
jef van gundy is my fav as well. also the clippers have a good commentator. the one that screams "SLAMMM DUNKKK" every time blake throws it down... also the miami heat have a really good commentator in eric reid. i also like the one that says "puts it up, PUTS IT IN", everytime he says it it gives me flashbaacks from when dallas beat the heat on that comeback game... all you heard was "puts it up, PUTS IT IN"..."puts it up, PUTS IT IN"..."puts it up, PUTS IT IN"
In last nights show it seemed like Shaq was trying to set up one of the razy bets Kenny/Jet/Chuck come up with, but he was forcing it.
Like with the underwear thing PabloFiasco mentioned or when he said he would bring his horse to sit next to himwhen he learns how to ride after Chuck and Kenny started making fun of him.
He just gives the impression that he wants to be the attention getting comedy act
Future Scout, you're talking about Mike Breen. I agree he's good. "For three..... BANG!!!!!!"
About ten years ago I was listening to Shaq after he had a big win on a dominating performance. He said, "I'm like the pythagorean theorem--there's just no answer!" Having taken freshman geometry, I knew the pythagorean theorem was simply a² + b² = c²; a very simple formula where the answer is ALWAYS c².
Since that moment I've thought Shaq was intellectually deficient. The statement he made above was one of dozens of reasons I came to that conclusion. Nothing he has said or done since that time has changed my mind. I've never found him quick witted or perceptive. When people started calling him the "Big Aristotle" it cracked me up. I agree w/the original poster--he tries too hard.
Don't misunderstand. I'm open to Shaq changing my mind about his IQ. And I recognize that Shaq was a great player. He was probably the most dominant player in the NBA for five years and is on a very short list for most dominant center ever. But when I heard he was joining the TNT crew it sounded like a mistake. It was.
...fancies himself as a real talented, funny dude, hence, all the horrible albums, TV shows stolen from Steve Nash, and movies. Everyone knows the Big Mumbler has only ever been good at two things: eating and playing hoops.
I don't mind Shaq, sure he can improve, but he's only just started and they're still quite hilarious, give em time, i think they're more enjoyable this year than last.
the Clips announcer is the legendary Ralph Lawler. He is also one of the most quick witted individuals you will find. When I moved to Southern California in the late 90's he was paired with... drum roll, please.... Bill Walton! They were ridiculous together. They had a crap team and were just trying to amuse themselves. A common dialogue went as follows: Clippers down by 20- Ralph: "Slaaaaaam Dunk, Olowokandi", Bill: "Throw it down, big fella, throw it down! The crowd is literally SURGING toward the court." Ralph: "Surging, Bill?" Bill: "Yes, surging".
Im definitel on Kobes side from now on. If shaq was this annoying of a teammat I feel sorry for those late Suns, and Celtics rosters.
Shaq was very annoying with the superman thing. Ryan Anderson & Glen Davis are the best players on the Magic. You win a dunk contest you are superman. Dude, you are like 40 years old. Grow up. Dwight is SUPERMAN right NOW. His abilities are more superman than yours are NOW. Pass the torch and be an ambassador for future big men. Don't try to attack them because they looked up to you. SMH Shaq.
