They did call a foul on him, so the refs did call a higher percentage of his moving screens than most other players. He does set his feet, and as long as he does that, the refs usually don’t call it for any player. In fact, it is generally the scrubs and role players who set the most illegal screens, as that is what they are supposed to do. See Reggie Evans or Kendrick Perkins as an example.

Yeah they called one foul on him. Its like holding in football if it keeps happening call it. Call it on Lebron, call it on Perkins, call it Duncan, call it on everyone. If its illegal call it

I thought, for the most part, his screens were fine. Even on the one he got called for, it could have gone either way, looking at the replay. Obviously, all of his screens are cutting it close, but that’s what good, legal creens are.

I get that he’s a superstar and superstars dont really set picks often, but every time he sets a screen. He moves. I get he’s a superstar and that the refs dont call it. Its just annoying. If your going to make rules they should be set for all players i’m sick of all these superstars having their own set of unwritten rules. enough is enough. Wether it be Anderson Varejao, Durant, Westbrook, Corey Joseph, Eddy Curry, or a rookie coming in to the league, the rules need to be the same for everyone. These superstar rules are a joke, its making me not want to watch basketball and I love this game. So stop with these calls because I know I’m not the only one who is getting sick of these superstar calls

I could care less about who makes it, hell my favorite team is a lottery team. I’m more frustrated over the integrity of the game.

Everybody moves on screens. They stop just before they are set, but everyone moves. The game is officiated differently in the nba than it is highschool and college. When a lot of players drive, they push the defender with their arms, but the referees never call it. If I did that in highschool, I would get called for a foul so fast, but the game is just officiated differently.

I would say outside of the flopping Lebron doesnt really play dirty that’s more of Shane Battier / Birdman’s game. But he did have one moving screen during the game though..

This was kind of generic and uninspiring, but I +1’ed it because of your list of players haha

the worst no call ive seen this series was tony parker lifting his pivot foot about 3 or 4 times while being guarded by chalmers out on the perimeter. it just sets a bad example by not calling that stuff, the most basic of rules..

As long as you don’t step into the defender you are fine. He even got called for one on Parker that looked like a good screen to me. I used to hate Lebron too, but never posted something ignorant just because I didn’t like him. I think he is one of the best players ever and actually am rooting for him in this series. Besides the flopping he is the best player I’ve ever seen.

    This is nitpicking.

You’re trying to find something wrong with LeBron’s game that simply isn’t there. Hell, the screen he was called on seemed set to me.

You also say you’re not trying to target LeBron yet you name this thread “Lebron setting screens”.

Screens are always close and everyone knows that ties go to the screener. If they called a foul on every “close” screen or “tie”, there would be another 20-30 foul calls a game and every big would foul out within the first 2 quarters of the game.

At this point, it’s not about what’s written in the rulebook but what is the consensus and the consistency.

As a fan, the only thing I want from the officials is consistency. If they don’t call it on Perkins, don’t call it on LeBron and vice-versa. The way screens are officiated are usually very consistent and I have no problem with it.
