Lebron Gives his Take on Yet Another Issue Completely Unrelated to Himself: Tim Tebow

LeBron James relates to Tim Tebow

DENVER -- LeBron James and Tim Tebow have vastly different backgrounds and play different sports, but James said Friday that he can relate to the high-profile Broncos quarterback.

"I love to see what a guy can do when his back is up against the wall and everybody counts him out," James said Friday night before the Miami Heat's game against the Denver Nuggets. "I'm in that same boat sometimes."

James has forged a relationship with Tebow, the Broncos quarterback, over the past several months, talking to each other about the pressures they both face as polarizing athletes. They have some business ties as well, as both endorse Nike.

"I can relate to him a lot. I see how the media plays it sometimes and how the critics go at him," James said. "To see him prove them wrong ... he continues to stay positive and move forward. You respect that."

In August, James came to Tebow's defense on Twitter during Broncos training camp. When several analysts criticized Tebow on ESPN, James wrote: "Tim Tebow will succeed in the NFL. He's a hard worker, a student of the game, a natural born leader and most of all a WINNER! It takes time and he'll be nice."

Their relationship has grown privately since then and James said they say in touch.

James, who is a well-known NFL fan, stopped short of predicting that the Broncos will upset the Patriots on Saturday night. But he did make it sound like he has a rooting interest.

"I wish him the best," James said. "I want him to play well and I want him to be successful."

Brian Windhorst is an NBA reporter for ESPN.com.

When i first read the title

When i first read the title of this i thought lebron was going back to his old ways and saying something stupid..but he didnt and said something nice and i respect him for That if he would have said things Like this constantly instead of his past antics people(including myself) would Like him more. So for That i respect him a little more, i have always said i disliked his personality but this season he seems to have matured a little bit. Thats a step in the right direction.

The Clippers will take it a little slower with Chris Paul, who tore a ligament in his right thumb. While he has been cleared for non-contact practice, the team expects Paul to participate in at least one preseason game.

After just four preseason

After just four preseason games, players are still learning more about one another and where they need to be on the court, catching onto instincts and inclinations. No one was fully pleased with Tuesday's effort – the first half was excruciating at times, and the offense still needs work – but at least they're recognizing the glitches.

So what have we learned, with all these factors and disclaimers? We've learned that there's something here, something that's perhaps yet to solidify and still at least a bit hidden. But there's something, and even these first hints of it are enough to provide some hope.

The key will be Roy, who is coming back after missing last season with chronic knee problems. He had a procedure this summer to try to relieve the bone-on-bone pain and signed with the Timberwolves in September after feeling much better in workouts.l;uiol7897

It was a frustrating time for Evans, the vice president of the National Basketball Players Association, and the rest of the NBPA’s executive committee. However, after 160 stressful days, the two sides would agree to a deal and ratify a new collective bargaining agreement to save the 2011-12 NBA season.bvvsfgsfgs

Houston Rockets big man Greg

Houston Rockets big man Greg Smith is facing the same sort of challenges that Gerald Green faced earlier in his career, but he’s not quite as far along in getting himself a guaranteed contract. In fact, Smith was invited to Rockets camp last year as well, but was cut three days before Christmas and the start of the 2011-12 lockout-shortened season.[870970967
