#1- in 2011 Carmelo and JR are UFA
#2- so is Tyson Chandler he fits perfect duh
#3- I said Kemba Walker for UConn he will be in next years draft and may fall to new York he fits perfect and is from New York

Let’s say you can afford Chandler, do you really think you’ll be able to afford Carmelo (who will get a max contract) and JR? That would mean you have ~45-50 million tied up in three players and JR Smith doesn’t really strike me as a guy willing to take a massive pay-cut to play behind Melo, Bron and Amare. I don’t have much to say about Kemba, as I’m sure the Knicks could pick him up if they really wanted but that is nothing more than personal speculation.

Also, let’s not forget the fact that Carmelo will likely sign the extension with Denver out of fear of the new CBA and how all seem to think it will result in drastic reductions in player salary
